This beautiful Inn in Freeport Maine is perfect in every way. The restaurant offers top quality food, the Broad Arrow Tavern a fun place for a pre-dinner drink. The grounds are gorgeous. Lots of space to walk our pup. Highly recommend the Inn

We first started going to this casually elegant Maine hotel fourteen years ago, and still run into guests that have been part of the Harraseeket family for much longer. The indulgent rooms, fine dining and 'to die for" informal lunch buffets hooked us, and the good value, commitment to community, and superb staff bring us back several times a year. The rooms have premium linens from local mills and are pristine. Much of the food is locally sourced, and prepared in ever inventive ways. The Inn is always seasonally decorated with some of the most unaffectedly beautiful flower arrangements I've ever seen. I've also seen the owner and staff go out of their way to help their guests. Maine generosity second to none. Recycling is not just for publicity here - they convert used cooking oil into biodiesel! If you want to be spoilt rotten, relax in total comfort, get your moneys worth, and feel really good doing it, this place is for you! Plus we are close to the beaches, museums, shopping, and nature that we love. Recipes for our favourite dishes are freely given out at the front desk. Knowledgeable staff suggest things to do if you're stumped. Chip Gray has sometimes organized custom tours for those with special interests. I know we'll be staying at this Inn for may years to come. Hope to see you there and share a chat around the fire one day!

Room Tip: Just tell the fabulous front desk staff what you need, what your budget is, and they will do the res!

This place has been our weekend getaway for four years now for a spa knitting retreat. The weekend is usually the end of February with about 200 of other fiber nuts. The harraseekeet always is so inviting and wonderful to us. The rooms are spotless and so lovely the breakfast buffet is included with your room and afternoon high tea is the best. We could stay at other hotels in the area but why would we. See you again in 2015.

Recently stayed in a townhouse at the Harraseeket Inn during a trip to Maine. While the townhouse was spacious and accommodating, it was not what I expected at a hotel rated 5 out of 5 on tripadvisor. The refrigerator and freezer smelled like a dead fish (or Maine lobster) had been left inside for weeks with the power off. Took a visit to the front desk to get baking soda placed inside, but it only masked the smell. We stayed 7 nights and every day the housekeeping staff would show up around 10 a.m. to clean. We had to ask twice for them to not come until after 11 a.m. The bathroom is in desperate need of renovation as the ceiling paint was peeling and the air intake next to the toilet was covered in years worth of dust.

Upon check in, I provided the desk clerk with a Visa card. After 4 nights, I asked the same desk clerk to switch to my Mastercard as I would receive more "points" on the MC. He took the card, scanned it, and assured me it would be used, but a week later, it still has not appeared on the MC and still shows as a charge on my Visa.

Breakfast was included in our rate. It was quite good and perhaps the best part of our stay.

The staff was personable and friendly, but as stated above, not everything was up to snuff for a 5 out of 5 Inn.

Thank you for your feed back and our deepest apologies that your stay wasn't up to your expectations. Our townhouses are in the process of being upgraded but your accomodations should have been spotless and daily service offered at the hour requested. We will make every effort to correct these issues with our housekeeping staff. Please call our front desk staff at 1-800-342-6423 to give us more information about your charges. Again, we're very sorry for letting you down and we hope you'll give us another try in the future.

Right in the heart of downtown Freeport, Maine outlets and shops. Beautiful country inn boasts amenities of larger city hotels. Fluffy white robes, deep bathtubs, friendly staff and true New England charm. Worth the extra money!
