“Beautiful New England Inn”
Reviewed 22 July 2010

Just returned from a few days at the Harraseekit Inn. This Inn is lovely - but most importantly it's their staff members that make the experience so special. Our room was very spacious - but their attention to details is what makes you want to return. Twice daily room service, chocolates on pillow, ice bucket filled before we even arrived and kept filled throughout our stay are just some special things that are done for you. From the women at the front desk to the dining room & Tavern staff all that we came in contact with went out of their way to make our stay special. Thanks for a great vacation!

The Inn is not your typical Inn. It has all the amenities of a hotel. We went on the "Girls Weekend" package.

Check in was friendly and efficient. All questions were knowledgeably answered. Our room was very nice and spotless throughout our stay. Chocolate covered strawberries and champagne were just what we needed upon arrival. The ice bucket was refilled each day.

Dining in the main dining room was great. Our knowledgeable and friendly server helped with selections. Her enthusiasm was evident. The next night in the Pub was equally enjoyable. Afternoon tea was a great treat each afternoon. It was hosted by a delightful gentleman who lived near by and was a wealth of information.

The location is a very short walk to all the outlets (our package included a $25 gift card to LL Bean). The Inn is also located on Route 1 with lots to see and do. The major highways are close by.

Our only suggestion: they needed to put some chairs in the garden for relaxing. The garden was beautiful. Some people used their own beach chairs. I visioned a couple of Adirondack chairs. We mentioned this at checkout and it seems it was a suggestion that they would implement.

My teenage daughter, her friend, and myself were here for 3 nights for a soccer tournament in mid June. Everything at the Harraseeket Inn was perfect. Staff, the pub, the accomodations all were top notch. My two girls really enjoyed the afternoon tea after a tough day of soccer. Perfect easy walking distance to the shops. I could just send them off to shop while I relaxed at the pool or read a book. I highly recommend this Inn and will be back again.

A classic New England experience, reliably excellent, with friendly personalized service and superb food in both the tavern and the formal Maine dining room. We've been coming several times a year for a decade, and have never been disappointed.

The Inn is pleasant, however townhouse we stayed in with dog was 'ok'. The plus was the space we had. However, bath was very small (clean) but not one with a lot of room for anyone with families. Overall room needed new carpet and overall bedding. There was a slight musty odor and furniture in main living room was old and a bit dirty. I would highly suggest bringing slippers, as socks were black on bottom after use wearing around townhouse. It is overpriced for what level the room and overall bedding/beds/facilitied offer. An example is 4 diamond award for dining, but red wine was hot, not served at proper temp.

This is our 3rd year staying at the Harraseeket. We usually get a suite, but I wanted to have the fireplace in the room with the bed. I am so glad I did. It was much smaller than the suite, and no fridge, but the perfect size for the night. Check in was a breeze, the bellman was missing, the front desk was annoyed with him, but we only stayed 1 night, so we only had 1 bag. The afternoon tea room is very nice, with a piano and a big fireplace that was working, and common and private sitting areas. Not sure if the inn is wireless, but I did see that they have a computer available if you needed one. It is very relaxing when you enter this "inn". We actually like the fact that it is an inn, but larger than most, so while your room has the quaintness of an inn, the amenities are more in line with a hotel...restaurants, pool, gym. We had a king room with fireplace and jacuzzi. I read in other reviews that the tub was small, I found it quite spacious. Just so you know, I did clean the tub first and it was spotless. The entire room was. The wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, but the fan in the bathroom really was useless. The heat lamp and bathrobes are a nice touch too. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were very soft. Our room looked out over the gardens. We fell asleep to the crackle of the fire.
The Broad Arrow Tavern is nice, again, overpriced, (100.00 for 2 people) as is the Main Dining room but the staff was very helpful and made dinner and drink suggestions. Our meals were average, good, nothing to rave about. The location is great for walking after dinner. We scoped out wich outlets to hit the next day, as they close early in the evening. My only complaint would be the breakfast buffet. Glad it was included in the price. Not much there, and the quality was poor. The scrambled eggs were one huge clump, not very appetizing. All in all, if you want to relax, this inn is perfect for that. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me.

We stayed at the Harraseekett Inn in Freeport, Maine, during the week of May 17, 2010. The Harraseekett has a few rooms which are pet-friendly, located on-site but deparate from the main inn, which is huge. Our room, though small, was pleasant and located on ground level.

Some of the furnishings seemed odd for travelers with pets (i.e., bedspreads with little puffballs hanging off them, which our 9-month-old puppy wanted to chew), but the room was relatively clean (again, a puppy WILL find that little gamepiece left behind - we pulled two out of her mouth). Rooms are air-conditioned and quiet. Ours had a spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, very nice after a long day of walking around Freeport!

The staff at Harraseekett couldn't be nicer, and we were welcomed as much as anyone without a little dog in tow.

Breakfast buffet is included in the price, and was comprised of pastries, juices, fresh fruit and yogurt, as well as hot dishes such as oatmeal, scrambled eggs, frittata, baked beans, Frech toast or pancakes, potatoes, and bacon. More than enough food!

There is an afternoon tea served in the main building's Drawing Room, and even in May, with the fireplace lit, it was a wonderful experience. One could easily spoil dinner by partaking in all the goodies that go with afternoon tea (fruit, scones, cheeses, cookies), but we were disciplined.

The Harraseekett serves dinner in its Maine Dining Room (where the breakfast buffet is served), but there is also the Broad Arrow Tavern, a more relaxed venue open all day and into the evening. The food is very good and the prices aren't bad.

We didn't bring swimsuits, but there is an indoor pool, and pretty grounds in the back. Lots of free parking behind the buildings.
