On our trip to Bar Harbor and Nova Scotia from NJ, we decided that our first leg would be a bit north of Portland. After our long drive, we arrived in Freeport during the late afternoon and checked into the Casco Bay Inn. We were greeted in a most friendly manner by the two young women who were manning the front desk. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and perfect for a night's stay. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and a pillow-top mattress pad. All linens were pretty new… not worn at all. We had a room with a king on the ground floor. Breakfast was basic… cereal, danish, muffins, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and a few choices of fruit. But they did have Green Mountain coffee… a plus. The price was right and the accommodations were well suited to our needs. Easy off from the interstate and close to shopping and restaurants.

Room Tip: We liked having a room that faced the back parking lot rather than the road.

We recently stayed there for 3 nights and were very happy with the entire place. Th room was clean, updated and very comfortable. For us, it was very relaxing and a pleasant place to stay. The personnel were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again. Cafe Azure was excellent in Freeport.

Room Tip: We had a corner room, so we had extra windows and the exterior door was right near where we parked o...

We used a coupon from a HotelCoupons.com booklet we picked up at a rest area so we got a great rate. Check in was breeze with a very friendly clerk. I forgot to ask for a room on the top floor so I was worried that noise would be an issue but my worries were unfounded. The room was spotless and included a Keurig coffee maker, microwave and mini-fridge. The temperature was great and the beds were very comfortable. They were made so tightly I think I could have bounced a quarter on them! The continental breakfast included the usual cereals, breads, muffins and rolls. It also included yogurts and fresh hard boiled eggs. Also included were bananas and cuties. This appeared to be a privately owned inn and it was well cared for. The decorating could use updating. It's not worn, it just needs updating.

Room Tip: Look for coupons in the HotelCoupons.com booklets at rest areas.

We thought we were making a reservation at a motel closer to Yarmouth. Our plane was three hours late arriving at Portland and we feared the office would be closed. A telephone call assured us they would be open. The pleasant young lady at the desk suggested a place to eat that was open until 11. More importantly: the room was immaculate and large, our queen size beds comfortable, the TV was a new flat screen, fridge and microwave were included and the ice was nearby. We didn't hear a sound all night. The advertised continental breakfast was much more than that. L L Bean is close by as are many good restaurants. An excellent value. We will return.

We had a great stay. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. We had parking right outside our room, a very very comfortable bed, and wifi. It was close to a nice park right down the road we could go watch the sunset. Close to town and all there is to offer. The breakfast was good as well. We would definitely go back.

We were staying for one night and booked last minute. Couldn't find the hotel (trip advisor does not have this place mapped correctly), tried to call and they were closed. Kept going and going and finally found the place. There was a sign on the door saying check mailbox for reservations...and there were ours, all mapped and two pass keys. Fabulous! It's a clean quiet place to stay! The bed was very comfy and we both slept well. At $79 for the night...a special, well need I say more?!?! Thank you CascoBay!

Booked this hotel at the last minute from Tripadvisor recommendations and I was suitably impressed with the high standard for a 'value for money price'. The girl at the front desk was pleasant and patient as I had lots of questions, not knowing too much about the area at all. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable but again little pillows which can be a bit annoying - seems to be a feature of some US hotels. The continental breakfast included in the price was sufficient to start the day and I can only be positive about my experience here. Two nights of peace and quiet in the comfort of a lovely king size bed. Well done to the staff of Casco Bay Inn; I hope to return some day soon!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quiet.
