My friend and I arrived around 1pm for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was very busy and the staff looked stressed. We waited for about 5 minutes until two seats at the downstairs bar freed up. The bartender was an older woman who wasn't friendly at all. She got drinks for two people who were seated after us then finally took our order. In the meantime, three other people came together and sat at the bar and because she never even acknowledged them, they left after 10 minutes. She didn't say "hello" to us or try to be friendly at all. We both ordered burgers that were delicious. Perfectly cooked with great grill flavor. However, the bartender never asked us how our meal was, if we'd like another drink, or even said "thank you" when we got the check. She also picked up my friends plate without asking her if she was finished when she still had most of her chips left on the plate. Really bad service from the bartender. I don't think she wanted to be there working today.

We've had lunch and breakfast here before and admit the service was not the best either time. Decided to give them another try - we had a great server today but the food was pretty bad. Ordered two mugs of chowder; one seafood and one clam. The seafood chowder was lukewarm and had to go back but both chowders were chock full of potatoes, a bit mealy and little taste. Most disappointing from a restaurant named after a really great store which is right across the street. At $12 per mug, save your money and go elsewhere! Azure Cafe right down the street has awesome food and if you don't mind a short drive, a bit south out of town on Route 1 is the Freeport Cafe and they have THE BEST chowder we have found anywhere in Maine.

Very busy so had to wait for a table, but we were given a pager. Only had to wait about 5 minutes. Very good lobster rolls and great atmosphere.

Maine's recipe for lobster roll is different from Massachusetts, and Linda beans was yummy. A crust-trimmed, buttered, toasted bun brimming with huge chunks of meat. Terrific!

We didn't have a very good experience. The Service was terrible, the food was over priced and the Food arrived Cold after a Very long wait for it to arrive. The portions were small and the Lobster Grilled cheese barely had any lobster on the sandwich. The steamed clam plate had several empty shells mixed in to make it look fuller. We sent the food back and left, we were famished and so disappointed that we wasted that much of our time to end up having to go somewhere else to get lunch. Never again, I do not recommend this place.
