Recompence Shore Campground at Wolfe's Neck Farm

We only got to spend one night here but there was ever so much to do!! My boys walked all over the farm and beach exploring and had a blast "discovering." The office staff is super helpful and informative. A+ all the way around - fun, quiet, laid back, but not boring. Well done!

This campground is located within Wolfe's Neck Farm and has great sites with water views and plenty of space between sites. I returned after my first stay in 2013 because I loved it so much. Very peaceful, beautiful gardens and the property is well maintained. The bathrooms/showers are also kept very clean. All the people who work @ the office were terrific! I can't wait to book again for 2015.

We stayed at Recompence for four days, three nights. I cannot stress how amazing this campground is.. the place is immaculate! We are avid tent campers and this is the cleanest place we have stayed. The grounds are so well kept. The bathrooms are cleaned daily, the showers are beautiful - even the outhouses are kept up daily.

Some other reviews on here state how smelly the grounds were and my only comment for that is - its a campground. Not a hotel. If you dont want to smell the outhouses be sure to pick a site away from them. We chose a site three "doors" down from the outhouses and didnt smell them at all.

We camped with two small children, in some pretty horrendous weather. Twice, someone from the security team came by to check on us and ask if we were hanging in there okay. You cant beat the customer service here.. You just cant!

Campsite was great - but we really did our research before choosing one. If you're unsure about a site, call the grounds and ask their opinion. The staff will go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay!

My wife and i tented there for one night in late June. The pre-arrival communication was excellent and check-in went very smooth. View from our campsite was amazing. We enjoyed takeout from their onsite canteen and the food was tasty and priced fairly. It was great being surrounded by a working farm. Would return in the future.

Room Tip: not a hotel but a campground

We loved it here. From $10 fresh steamed lobsters to employees who will kindly give your car a jump if you need it, this fantastic jewel of a campground will amaze you. The views from the camp sites are incredible and the canoes and kayaks for rent are well cared for. The bathrooms were clean and modern. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Pre-arrival communication was the best. Check in went smoothly, with great staff in the office. Very hard time maneuvering our travel trailer onto access camp road across the street. Had to drive down the road and make a 3 point turn down at the farm. We had water and electric, that worked just fine. Problem was that the W/E loop of campers only had a communal pit toilet. Showers and flush toilets at office area, or the other 2 camp loops only. I guess if you have water and electric you're expected to use your own shower and flush toilet. Which brings me to the dump station. Workable, but........ Not a very level site, and access from one direction. You either have to back in, or back out. No drive through at this place.
Most sites are for tenters. Big rigs should avoid with those tight turns. WiFi only at office area, and cell service was fair. Staff folks very friendly, and we had a quiet visit over the July 4th weekend. (Despite 18 hours of rain from Tropical Storm Arthur.)

We went 6/25-6/27 2014. This place is beautiful. we opted for a premium ocean view, and it was a great site 168. it was a big site, with some tree coverage. We could see the play ground and field from our site. There is not a place to swim, even though its on the bay. the outhouse next to our site, was really disgusting smelling, I would make the trip to a real bathroom in the camp ground. It also has farm animals the kids can learn about. And a community garden. I will definitely go back to this campground. Worth the money for sure.
