“Excellent Inn stay...”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

We spent 5 days at the Hampton Inn in Freeport while sailing in a regatta in Portland, ME. Found the Inn staff and accommodations very good and it was easy to get to the sailing venue. I would recommend the Hampton Inn to anyone and know they would be satisfied with their accommodations.

Great spot for a mid-journey (to PEI) trip. Room was pricier than I would have liked (nearly 500$ for two nights), considering it was just a typical Hampton Inn. Pool was ok, room was decent, but not huge, and it was not within walking distance of Freeport (if you have young children). That said, I think it's an expensive area in general, it was easy access to the highway, there's a gorgeous state park nearby, and the breakfast staff were wonderful.

Traveling up the east coast led us to stay several places on our way to Bar Harbor. Although we felt the cost didn't reflect this "average" hotel, we did think the staff was WONDERFUL. The warm cookies at night, and buffet breakfast of cereal, fruit, bagels/muffins, oatmeal and waffles were added bonuses to our one-night stay. Do yourself a favor and walk across to the pizza place across the street. Terrific food, and a 10% discount with a hotel stay!

Pros:
• The complimentary breakfast is good, with several options.
• They offer free, freshly baked cookies every night.
• The location is pretty quiet, with some trees around the parking lot.
• The customer service is excellent, especially at the front desk.

Cons:
• There were some signs of wear and tear in the bathroom. For example, there was a crack in the vanity and some stains in the grout along the bathtub.
• It's a little too far to walk to the Freeport stores, especially while carrying shopping bags on the way back – but on the other hand, this is also a pro because it's a quiet location.
• Considering the state of the hotel, the rates are a little too high. There is nothing wrong with the hotel, but it's not quite fancy enough for the rates they charge.

Overall:
The Hampton Inn Freeport offers great customer service and it's easy to feel at home. Although you won't find up to date luxury, the rooms are comfortable and we slept well there.

We were looking for an efficient stop over to basically sleep , have breakfast and get going on our way to Boston. Hampton meet all our needs. Was clean, comfortable and efficient. The lady that took my last minute reservation was extremely nice and helpful, which made the decision to stay quick and easy, even through it was a little more than i was hoping to pay for what we needed. Room was great, breakfast had a lot of variety and was clean and not terribly crowded. Check in and out was fast and pleasant. All in all a pleasant experience.

Not the Best Hampton Inn I've ever stayed in, but not the worst. Very friendly staff. Serviceable room, dated decor but clean. Very comfortable bed and great pillows. The breakfast was disappointing. Not bad overall, but I probably wouldn't stay there again.

Spent one night at this hotel at the end of July. Nice hotel. Fairly new it seems. Pool is nice. Room are fairly big and clean. Bed was comfy. Breakfast could have been better, but would still stay at this hotel again.
