“Dated hotel, but fine for a night”

We stayed here one night. Hotel needs updating, but the location is good. Right off 295 and close to shopping in Freeport. The beds are soft. Free breakfast in the morning with your basics. Waffle iron is hit with kids.

I appreciate your recent visit with us and your comments via your Trip Advisor posting.

It is great to hear that you found our accommodations to be comfortable and our complimentary breakfast to be satisfying. Our waffles are a favorite of many of our families, and children especially.

Concerning the need for renovations, I would concur with your opinion, and am pleased that we will begin improvements to our rooms this coming off season, with the goal of having all of our accommodations updated by late winter to early spring. Hopefully, you will have an opportunity to experience these changes upon completion.

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights. The staff was helpful and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms were clean. However for the price of the rooms, I would have expected a room which was updated. The room was in desperate need of renovation. Breakfast was good but the seating areas were overwhelmed with people and made it tough to find a seat at peak times.

Thank you for your recent review and stay at our property. I appreciate your compliments concerning our staff and your input regarding opportunities for improvement.

Though you did find our accommodations to be clean and comfortable, I and our ownership would concur with you that our rooms are in need of updating.

It is with that understanding that we will be embarking upon a broad reaching renovation project, which will update all 77 of our guest rooms beginning this winter. These changes will compliment the improvements that have already been made in the last 18 months to our public spaces, including our breakfast area, lobby and corridors.

I truly do hope that following these renovations, you will stay with us next season and find accommodations that meet your expectations for modern decor, cleanliness and comfort.

The staff was very nice and check in was easy as usual at Hilton Properties. The room was ok a bit worn looking but clean for the most part the bathroom floor was sicky and I didnt feel comfortable about that. The property on the outside perimtter could use some care. It was not as clean as it should be in the parking area in the back or in the very front of the hotel. Someone had spit ( I realise this is not a pleasant subject) in both parking lots. I am not faulting the property for it happeninng but it wasnt cleaned away while we were there which was just overnight.

I am glad that you found your room to be clean and our staff to be helpful and friendly. Though you did find our decor to be dated, I am happy that you still found your accommodations to be comfortable.

Regarding the outside ground, I do regret that cleanliness challenges were discovered and were not dealt with in a timely manner. I will be sure to share your feedback concerning this incident with our staff for the purpose of improving upon this aspect of cleanliness in the future.

I have stayed at many Hampton Inns; this one had large rooms and baths, and smelled fresh. My first impression was great, but breakfast the first morning was a shock as there was no coffee between 7:30 and 8 am, and no staff seemed to be around. I reported it to the front desk; the woman there smiled at me, but didn't comment or apologize- strange! They also ran out of other breakfast items both mornings- and seemed to be understaffed, as the items weren't refilled very quickly. I think the staff was trying, but there just weren't enough of them to serve the place adequately.

Though you did find your accommodations to be clean and comfortable, I do regret that both the service provided by our staff and the quality of our complimentary breakfast feel below your expectations and our standards.

Though we did not an overall satisfactory experience indicative of what we normally offer for Maine hospitality, it is my hope that you may choose us again in the future.

Friendly staff during checking and check out...

Clean and thankfully smoke free room, well appointed with a fridge/microwave. Comfy bed.

We didn't stay for the breakfast buffet because at this point, this would have been Hampton Inn #3...we needed a change.

Staff asked how our stay was, this was the first time they seemed to sincerely want to know. I told them about the Peabody Hampton Inn..they were apologetic that their sister hotel would disappoint, and they also said they still have a few non-smoking rooms and generally do not offer them unless people ask, and the hotel was trying to phase them out.

I have stayed here before, and would not hesitate to recommend them. A nice clean hotel, and a very quite stay. We had a first floor room, with no issues.

We visited Freeport as the last stop of our New England jaunt. The hotel is typical for a Hampton Inn. The staff is par, but really do not go out of their way to accommodate. The rooms are nothing special and a bit worn. We also found our room to have some unusual spots and stains on the ceiling. The bed linens were very clean and the beds were super comfy.

Though we were able to provide overall clean, comfortable accommodations, I regret that we did not provide the high level of service that we have become known for.

We strive to provide service that exceeds our guests' expectations and is indicative of the best that Maine hospitality has to offer. As we did not meet this standard during your visit, I will look to share your comments with our team with the purpose of bringing strength to this identified weakness.

Concerning our room decor, you may have seen my response to other posts noting this and the fact that we do have plans to embark on major guest room renovations this off season. It is my hope that you may have a chance to experience our hotel following these improvements next year.
