We were staying at the Black Lantern B&b in Topsham which is about 30mins away from the Five Islands Lobster Co. We had read on Tripadvisor that it was good so we made our way there for a meal. It is a few miles away from Brunswick - just follow road 1 towards Bath. After the bridge, turn right towards Georgetown Island and then follow the road for about 9 miles all the way to this restaurant. It is signposted.

They have a great choice of food but we went there specifically to try their lobster rolls. My wife went for the regular size once and I went for their famous 'Big Boy' lobster roll. Both or our rolls came with a bun, fresh lobster meat (with a tiny bit of mayonnaise) and crisps. The 'Big Boy' must have had about XXXX of lobster as it was a monster roll! They have lots of drinks on offer (no alcohol) although you can bring your own beer if you like. They also offer steamed lobster, crab cakes and many other sea dishes.

You eat outside on picnic tables and watch the sea view which is stunning. This place is only open for a certain amount of time during the year so check their website for opening hours. The standard lobster roll (smaller one) cost about 12USD and the 'Big Boy' lobster roll cost about 25USD not including drinks.

After spending October 6 Sunday morning and early afternoon on our autumn leaf peeping driving tour through Vermont and New Hampshire, we headed for Bar Harbor, Maine with a planned stop for a late lunch/early dinner stop at the Five Islands Lobster Co. We picked this place because it was recommended in an article by a Maine professional writer Hilary Nangle who had been writing about her home state for more than 20 years and had dined at lobster outposts from Kittery to Eastport, favoring the in-the-rough, order-at-the-counter, eat-out-on-a-picnic-table shacks. Also this place was easily accessible from I-294 north via Bath. The Georgetown coastal setting was idyllic. Since there were no crowds, the staff allowed us to see the holding tanks up close with both hard and soft shell lobsters and take pictures with our selected hard shell lobsters. This was perhaps a once in a lifetime experience for us dining on delicious cooked fresh caught lobsters in a top notch scenic lobstering village setting. Fortunately, we got here on the second to the last weekend before their closing for the season.

Although finding the place was a challenge due to Sprint's lack of coverage in Maine. This was one of the best meals I've had in a restaurant and very affordable- about $40 for 2 of us eating 3 lobsters with sides of corn, potatoes, and cole slaw. The view is amazing and the ambience was perfect. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Maine.

We ordered 2 lb lobsters to go. Windy that day so didn't want to eat outside. Lobsters were very reasonably priced. But I would opt for smaller lobsters as I would think they are easier to
eat. Fresh as you can get tho, and the atmosphere here is exactly as I imagned a lobster town to be. Definately do this one day if you are in Georgetown. .

I've eaten at over a dozen on the water lobster-wharf setups, and hands down, this was the BEST ever. The scenery is just beyond words. There is ample parking, and ample seating. The lobster is a bit pricey, as one would expect, but they are freshly unloaded all day. I was a bit annoyed when i asked for 3 lobster, and asked for 2 of them to be aprox 2lbs....they said they didn't have any 2 lbs, but had close to 3..well, after paying $132 for 3 lobsters i was shocked. The weight on the receipt said 3.4 and 3.9 ounces!! Double what i asked for. This is maybe a scam. I trusted them and was reamed bigtime. We had to use a rock to open it. Overall, I loved it, just not the scam part.
