I personally think this location is a little slice of heaven for anyone wanting to explore, relax or host an event. You can sit on the huge wraparound porch and read a book while watching the ocean or skip over to the state park and explore. We are seasoned travelers from Key West, Napa/Sonoma Valley, Durango, Yosemite Valley (Ahwahnee Hotel) to Hawaii (Four Seasons Hawaii). This view ranks amongst the best I have ever seen. This property and view will not disappoint the traveler wanting to see the coast of Maine and stay first class in a bed and breakfast.
My husband and I stayed at the tail end of an eight day Maine trip. We had the unexpected treat of staying on a week night when things are typically slower. On first arriving we were caught speechless once we rounded the property porch to the entrance. The view from this ocean side property is one of the most serene and breathtaking views I have personally ever seen. Upon entering we were greeted and hosted all evening by the one of the owners Dick. He made us feel at home and personally saw we were comfortable. He served us and the other guests evening cocktails. He left no need unattended. Charming host and obviously someone loving what he is doing. The B&B itself is beautiful. The woodwork and detail to decorating are inviting and cozy without being stuffy or too dark. It has a top notch restaurant and full bar (excellent wine selection). We stayed in one of the turret rooms on the 3rd floor facing the ocean. On waking we were treated to one of the most spectacular views of an ocean side sunrise I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. We enjoyed the view and breakfast so much we skipped our planned excursion to the state park to sit and stare at the view and relax. The B&B itself is newly renovated and updated. We had the good luck on a slower evening to get to explore the beautiful property and hotel in its entirety. The only regret is that we did not have 2 more full days to stay. We will be remedying our regret and missed state park excursion by planning another trip next year to this same destination. That we are already planning another trip in itself speaks volumes.
I included pictures. Did not put room pictures as they did not turn out well and did not want to show them in a bad light no pun intended.

Room Tip: All ocean side rooms have a wonderful view. If staynig on the back side pick the left side if look...

We recently got married at the Grey Havens Inn and are still coming down from the excitement. We had our ceremony and reception there as well which made it so ideal. It rained the weekend of our wedding but that did not put a damper on the day, we just moved our ceremony into their beautiful sitting room with the fireplace which made it all the more cozy and intimate. Our cocktail hour flowed out onto the beautiful wrap-around porch that faces a spectacular view of the ocean as we moved into the tent where we had our reception. All our catering was provided by Grey Havens' own Chef Esau who did a superb job feeding 107 guests and personalizing the menu to fit our taste.
Innkeepers Eve and Dick are the most accommodating and gracious hosts that you will ever meet. They made us feel like family rather than a number. We can't wait to return for our future anniversaries! The Grey Havens Inn is the perfect choice for a wedding, a weekend away or any special event you are celebrating. The entire experience was perfect, and Eve and Dick are amazing.

Room Tip: You won't regret a nights stay in the Sunrise Suite. Balcony with a breathtaking view.

We just spent the most wonderful night at Grey Havens! I wanted to celebrate a momentous birthday on the ocean with our sons and their wives. Since it is off season and we were there on a Sunday night, my son prepared a meal at his home in Portland and transported all the fixings to the inn where the owners, Eve and Dick, couldn't have been more gracious, helpful and accommodating in providing us space in the lovely dining room, setting a beautiful table for us, giving us access to the kitchen for heating things up, and making us feel welcome. There is nothing to compare to the experience of sleeping with the windows open, listening to the waves through the night, and then waking to a morning that just sparkled. It was perfect!

Room Tip: For luxury and a breathtaking view with a private deck, choose the Sunrise Suite. The turret rooms...

My brother was married at Grey Havens last Saturday. Wedding guests took over the Inn for the entire weekend. As others have reviewed, the views are spectacular, the Inn immaculately clean. In addition, proprietress Eve was the essence of grace. She and her staff were all accomodating and service oriented and ALWAYS with good humor and a smile on their faces. Breakfast both mornings was cozy and delicious (who knew scrambled eggs could be THAT good??) and the bottomless cups of coffee were most appreciated! Our stay was so memorable and we thank them for such a fabulous experience. There is already talk of a family reunion at Grey Havens next year. We hope we can make that happen.

Search no further.
The Grey Havens Inn has everything that Maine represents: Old Inn with wrap-around porch right at the water's edge with view of small islands, nice clean rooms, good restaurant, the Reid Stage Park a few minutes away with high rocks, beaches and crashing waves, march land, and Five Islands Harbor, a quaint harbor with one of the best lobster pounds in Maine. We will never search further, having sailed to most harbors in Maine. This is the ultimate of luxury and beauty, just 1 hour and 20 minutes north of Portland. Try it. You will like it.

First and foremost, this particular bed and breakfast was by far the most beautiful, peaceful, and clean B&B either of us have ever stayed in. We had initially booked the "Ocean Room," but, after a bit of snooping, we came across the "Osprey Turret" room and fell in love, thankfully, before we had unpacked. It was a bit more money, but the view and size of the room were worth every single penny, and then some.

My significant other and I spent two wonderful nights at The Grey Havens Inn at the end of July--a Sunday night, and a Monday night. The property itself is immaculate. The common areas of Grey Havens provide breathtaking views of the ocean, whether you're reading a book in the large, bright sitting area, or sitting on the expansive front porch, rocking back and forth to the gentle sounds of waves lapping on the shore. It truly is a Haven.

Our only, and I mean, ONLY issue with The Grey Havens Inn is the lack of food IF YOU STAY ON A SUNDAY OR MONDAY NIGHT. In short--there is no food. The restaurant that is part of the Inn--Blue-- gets WONDERFUL reviews, in fact, the best reviews on the entire peninsula. My man and I were very excited to partake in said deliciousness. Call it poor planning on our part, but we were not aware that the restaurant AND bar would be closed during the nights we stayed which is why I am writing this part of the review. We were hungry.

Every B&B we have been to has a little nook that is generally stocked with coffee, tea, and a yummy homemade biscuit or treat of some sort, which is really all you need if you have a little post-dinner tummy rumble. Not only was there no dinner, there was no nook, coffee, tea, or "little something" to munch on. There was also no one manning the front desk, tucked away in the kitchen, or anywhere else on the premises. After a quick phone call to one of the owners, we were advised that we were basically on our own until the next morning.

Part of the charm of Grey Haven's is it's secluded location! However, with seclusion comes, well, seclusion. There is nothing to eat within a half an hour of the Inn. No restaurants, no grocery stores. So, we drove, and we found a place to eat, ravenously hungry.

If you are planning to visit Grey Havens Inn, be sure to check the website as their restaurant is open different days depending on the season you visit. Be sure to bring snacks and a bottle of wine if you happen to be there on a night the restaurant is closed.

So, constructively criticizing, our only "beef" about the Inn was the lack of coffee and treats--that little nook we never knew came in so handy during B&B stays until we didn't have it. The sporadic restaurant closing was our own poor planning. If we missed it on the website, you might have missed it, too. Hope this review helps. Enjoy your stay and love every minute of the beautiful Grey Havens Inn!

My husband and I were exploring the area and decided to stop in to see what this unassuming building had to offer. As we rounded the corner of the well kept, wide porch to the entrance we were instantly taken by the gorgeous views of the ocean! As we entered the Inn, we knew it was a place we wanted to call home. The decor is warm, spacious and inviting with large windows of unobstructed views of the ocean. The Innkeepers are delightful and make you feel at home. The staff are pleasant and accommodating. Our dining experience was a treat. All you hear are the sounds of working lobster boats, rolling waves or the lovely background music playing inside the Inn. This was truly a peaceful, serene get away. We highly recommend a short stay or an extended stay. It was a total treat!

Room Tip: Recommend an ocean view!
