Innkeepers Jeff and Terri were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we checked in. They offered us good advice on the town and attractions. You can tell they have put alot of love and care into the inn. Everything is well maintained and clean. The grounds are beautiful. The wait staff and cleaning staff were very accommodating and cordial.
As noted, a Victorian period home, but dark and somber for our tastes. My husband and I occupied room 24 and found it very tight for our needs. No closet and probably best suited for a single person accommodation and would be helpful if reflected on the website. Our friends stayed in cottage 3 and thoroughly enjoyed the space, privacy and view.
We found an absence of healthy choice items on the breakfast offerings, such as yogurt, nuts and seasonal fresh fruit. The French toast was the best we have ever had. The scrambled eggs were excellent! Light and fluffy eggs, but no toast to accompany them. Quiche and Saturday night dinner menu (mushroom risotto) were very salty. The risotto was pricey ($24). The meat dishes, beef short ribs and prime rib were exceptional.
The addition of an afternoon tea and or wine and cheese hour would be a great addition to any person's stay.More
