Beautiful B&B out in the country! The room we stayed in was nice and cozy. Breakfast was really good and there is original artwork everywhere so my wife had to buy a piece. Sat up late reading in the living room and there were always cookies or something to munch on. Vince and Scott were wonderful host and if you wanted to go get food they had a huge binder of menus. The property has wonderful trails with little waterfalls but be warned that you will walk out with ticks on you we were picking them off all night it seemed.

If you are going anywhere near Augusta Maine this is the place to stay
Run by perfectionists with such attention to detail but an authentic interest in your comfort and enjoyment
It's a privilege to meet masters of their art and Scott and Vince put on an understated display of calm excellence
Ian Fleming once wrote the very best service goes unnoticed
They both went out of their way to ensure I has the best stay from a barn visit at night to meet the Llamas to a great restaurant pick
I will be back :) !!

Maple Hill Farm is our favorite place to stay in the Augusta, Maine area, no question. It is easy find and conveniently near all major access points, but it is so peaceful and secluded that it is easy to forget that historic downtown Hallowell, with its vibrant culinary scene and art and antique shops, is mere minutes away.

We got married at the farm under the majestic maple trees with a reception following in the lovely red Carriage House. Since then, we have come to relax, escape, and sadly, even grieve. Each and every time, Scott and Vince have created a spectacular experience: social and ready with a drink from the bar when we're feeling chatty, while fading into the background when we need time to ourselves. Their hospitality has made the Inn our second home. Whether booking just a weekend or planning a wedding, Scott and Vince are organized, courteous, patient, and just plain "on it."

Upon arriving at the farm, you will be checked in quickly, given the tour, and told to make yourselves at home. The rooms are all well appointed (including comfy beds, aaaaah), while each maintaining its own unique character and charm. The common areas boast an outdoor hot tub and sauna and a wood-burning fireplace in the cozy living room. Breakfast is expertly provided by chef Karen, who whips up a selection of down-home favorites made to order each day, including blueberry pancakes, french toast, muffins, and truly farm fresh eggs from the chickens in the barn prepared any way you wish. And don't forget to try her homemade jams, which will have you simply saying, "YUM."

In all seasons there are plenty of trails around the farm for hiking or snowshoeing, and Scott and Vince will gladly help you plan your day either in their backyard or further afield. Sandy the pony, Jake the goat, and a bevy of llamas are also in the pasture for viewing and a good pat on the muzzle.

The eco-friendly property features a wind turbine, solar panels, and beautifully warm LED lightbulbs, with green cleaners including soaps and shampoos. Some rooms even have gas-fired "wood stoves" for efficient heating on a cold winter day.

Overall, this is a fabulous place and we will be coming back again. Our guess is, should you come here once, you will, too.

After driving all day, arriving to this friendly inn was like arriving at an oasis. Fresh-baked cookies and friendly innkeepers greeted us. The llamas and goats were welcoming, too. The sauna eased the tense muscles, and the breakfast next day was delicious!

This was a wonderful place to stay at. I was on a business trip and Scott made sure I was comfortable and at ease. The room was great! The bed was comfortable and I had plenty of room to work in. The food was very tasty and the potions were very filling. I can not say enough about Scott. He was a great host. This is the only place I will stay at, when I am in the area. Best place by far!

Maple Hill Farm Inn is the only place I will consider staying in the Augusta, Maine area. A beautiful farm inn, a welcoming and friendly host and a peaceful night of sleep prepared me for a busy day of Capitol events, meetings and presentations. Scott was very helpful and I was impressed with the attention to guest needs, including a breakfast-to-go because I had to leave early in the morning. This inn highly deserves the accolades it receives for its clean energy systems but is worth a stay because of its comfort for its overnight guests.

I don't really want to publicize the charm of this inn, so that it continues to be the wonderful, quiet get-away that it is. However, I owe it to the terrific inn keepers to do so. It's a very welcoming, pretty, comfortable place to stay. I recommend it highly.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our reviews say it all. Serving the Augusta Maine area, Maple Hill Farm is a small boutique hotel (an intimate country inn, if you'd like to call us that!) that perfectly combines true eco-consciousness, country serenity, relaxing comfort, and fine amenities. Surrounded by acres of rolling fields and woods, including an active bird feeder and a barn full of llamas and chickens, we were named "One of the Best 5 Green Hotels and Inns" in New England by Yankee magazine in 2017, and also Maine's first certified "Environmental Leader" green lodging establishment with a huge solar electric array plus solar hot water and its own wind turbine. Huge double whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, and private decks accentuate some guest rooms. A sauna and outdoor hot tub beckon the guest to truly relax, along with full bar service, a full breakfast cooked to order, and personalized attention. EV charging stations, too! ... more   less
