Just a few minutes outside Augusta, you will find a quaint, quiet place to get away.
Greeted with hand made truffles and chocolate covered strawberries once we settled in. Comfortable atmosphere with clean, cozy accomodations. Private bath is how we decided to even try a B+B. Scott and Vince should be proud of thier establishment.

Had the chance to go into the barn and pet the animals, one month old llama, very cute. Breakfast was tasty and enjoyed the company of other guests. Room and Inn was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The large tub with soft lighting was very relaxing and a great place to enjoy a glass wine. Very accomodating staff and we would go back in a minute. Very close to dining and shopping choices.

My partner and I spent only one night at Maple Leaf in August, as a leisurely stop on our way to the ocean, but it was so amazing and memorable that it feels, in retrospect, as though we must have been there for days. Scott and Vince were the most welcoming, friendly, easy-going hosts who were perfectly available with great recommendations for local restaurants and to talk about the area, yet not at all intrusive. Our room was immaculate, quiet, comfortable and tastefully decorated with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and windmills. The big jacuzzi tub in our private bathroom was luxurious! And it felt good to stay in such a green B&B. Scott and Vince have put their money where their mouths are in terms of being green ... and did so before it was "the thing" to do.
The breakfast was, without question, the best we've ever encountered in a B&B ... a wonderful variety of choices cooked to order, literally off of a menu. Delicious gourmet omelets and pancakes! The morning we had breakfast at the Maple Leaf, there were 4 couples at the large dining room table, none of whom had met before, and the conversation that ensued was amazing! A fascinating convergence of people with some totally unexpected connections. Three people from different couples ended up speaking Russian to one another at breakfast in Maine!
There were delicious home-baked snacks and coffee and tea available at all hours for guests' enjoyment. There is a little art gallery featuring local painters in the dining area. Before we left, we were taken on a leisurely tour of the animal barn where we met llamas, a cow, goats and sheep, with very interesting commentary by one of the "farm-hands." We also got some great photos of this most picturesque setting ... the beautiful house on the hill, the old beautifully maintained barn, gorgeous old trees and the animals. We would, without reservation, recommend the charming Maple Leaf to anyone looking for a great relaxing get-away! It is a gem!

Thank you for your very complimentary review. We fondly remember the discussion in Russian emanating from the dining room that morning! Hope you'll come back soon and visit our new llama Maartena who is just over a month old.

nice room with wireless access. Close to where I needed to go the next day.
Beats staying in the Holiday Inn in town.

The Maple Hill Inn was very nice and had a very welcoming atmosphere. They were very helpful, even lending a suit jacket to one of my clients when he left his at home. I would highly recommend a stay here, especially in the room with a gas stove and whirlpool, a delicious combination which I enjoyed.

I've stayed here often. Every room is different, with unique pleasantries in each. The beds are the most comfortable of any inn I've ever stayed at. The breakfasts are great. When time allows, the trails behind the inn offer a nice walk, with a surprising amount of birds and wildlife.

Great place to relax. Town of Hallowell is charming. The only thing that would have made it better would be an updated breakfast menu...with more flavor.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our reviews say it all. Serving the Augusta Maine area, Maple Hill Farm is a small boutique hotel (an intimate country inn, if you'd like to call us that!) that perfectly combines true eco-consciousness, country serenity, relaxing comfort, and fine amenities. Surrounded by acres of rolling fields and woods, including an active bird feeder and a barn full of llamas and chickens, we were named "One of the Best 5 Green Hotels and Inns" in New England by Yankee magazine in 2017, and also Maine's first certified "Environmental Leader" green lodging establishment with a huge solar electric array plus solar hot water and its own wind turbine. Huge double whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, and private decks accentuate some guest rooms. A sauna and outdoor hot tub beckon the guest to truly relax, along with full bar service, a full breakfast cooked to order, and personalized attention. EV charging stations, too! ... more   less
