My husband, my son, and I stayed for 2 nights. WE stayed June 5-7 in room 104. It was a very clean room The property is in a quiet place but, not far from Ellsworth. Bar Harbor isn't far either. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room had a coffee pot, refrigerator, tv, and table. There were plenty of lamps for lighting. WE had a smoking room and there was no scent of cigarettes at all. Very clean. There is no vent or hair dryer in the bathroom. There is a window to open if you like air when you shower :) Very private and comfortable setting. I will totally stay again.

Stayed one night only. Very dated motel, frenziedly greeting at the front desk and checking-in went well. No designated parking for the room we given and the rooms are elevated from the general parking area so had to carry luggage up some outside stairs to get to walkway to room.

We had not hot water so called the front desk and were informed we need to run the water for approximately 5 minutes before we would receive hot water since we were located at the end of the building. We did receive hot water after following those instruction. Only about about 10 rooms appeared occupied so I suspect that inconvenience could have avoided by locating us in a room closer to services and convenient parking.

I will never stay here again, the rooms were very run down. Rusty heaters, had to plug in the lights and a/c. This room was supposed to be smoking but was not they don't even offer smoking rooms. The 1 vending machine they had was broken, the 2 ice machines they had were both broken. The front desk couldn't even tell me where to park. The room was supposed to have a refrigerator and microwave and only had the refrigerator. The curtain in the room didn't work to close and I stood in their chair to hook it together for privacy.

This is a renovated Howard Johnsons and the mgt is doing the best they could possibly do with aged facilities. Room was clean and spacious, staff was courteous and helpful. Value was excellent. Great for extended stay and exploration of Down East Maine.

Room Tip: Easiest access rooms are on lower tier unit.

This is a motel on the US1, 17 miles from the Acadia NP. And this is the only reason we slept a couple of night here. As I told in the title it was not bad, room was relatively big and the bathroom clean but cannot be compared to an hotel. Breakfast was a simple coffee to go at the motel office. We have been good but we quickly forget of it. If you need a cheap place to visit Acadia NP and you are "flexible" enough, go there.

A friend and I wanted to visit Acadia National Park and needed to book a place during peak season with just 3 weeks notice--and we wanted something very reasonably priced. Fortunately, we found this place in Ellsworth. We stayed here August 22-26 for $81/night which was much lower priced than anything else we could find in the area. This is an older and rather plain minimal-looking hotel--and so if you're looking for something super-updated or 'charming,' this isn't it. However, our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It had a mini fridge, coffee pot, iron, etc. It also included cable TV and wifi (although we didn't use these, so I can't tell you whether they were good or not). I liked that there were two Adirondack chairs out front where we could sit after a long day of exploring the park. Another plus is that pets can stay for free (but verify this when you book). A few other guests had dogs but we didn't hear any barking and we got to meet a few really sweet little dogs. This hotel is right along Hwy 1 where you can hear a little traffic, but our room (#110) was fairly quiet as it's farther away from the highway. It's an easy drive into downtown Ellsworth and it's about 30 minutes from Acadia National Park. Given the value for the price, I would consider staying here again. I'm giving this place 3.5 stars not because it's a 4-star hotel but because for a budget hotel, I was able to check off most expectations that I would have for a hotel in this price range for this area.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that is further away from Hwy 1.
