It is quite fun to find this pub in the tiny village of Hope Corner.
On the recent night that I visited, I have to say I was disappointed with the service. Our waitress asked for our dinner orders shortly after we sat down; before offering drinks (shorting herself on tips that way). We ordered drinks, she brought them and then wanted our order, with out ever telling us the specials, which we then asked for.
Apparently, most nights bread is brought to the table, not the night I was there.
The menu is limited, however there is quite a range of prices. Our meals were excellent! My bangers and mash were just lovely, however a small serving of vegetables would have complimented the plate both nutritionally and attractiveness.
Three desserts to choose from. Brownie sundaes are easy, so they appear most places, however that is a poor choice for a "chocolate" dessert.
The restaurant is in a newly constructed barn, which is lovely, however it is always noisy inside. There is little on the walls and ceiling to absorb the voices of other diners.
On more note, they need better exhaust fans. The next morning, I realized that every piece of clothing I had on at dinner, including my coat, now reeked of fried food.
A nice watering hole, but could use a little more attention to detail.
