“It is a Motel, but a great spot for Snowmobilers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2013

Jackman is a snowmobilers destinations. With trails all around it, it is an awesome place to ride. My husband and I stayed at this motel. It is clean, their breakfast is great for a continental, staff is friendly and the location is perfect. You unload your snowmobile and go everywhere from there, no need to load it up again and travel to unload it. I will stay there again.

Room Tip: King bedrooms are spacier.

Dear Valued Guest:

Thank you for lodging at Bishops Country Inn/ Motel. We are glad that you found the location to be desirable and convient to eating places. We noticed that you traveled in the fall, if you join us again ask the front desk clerk for hot spots to see moose! We are thrilled that you found our staff friendly and we will surely share your kind comments with all the staff. It is good to know that you slept well in our beds and found the room quiet. Our new bedding and distance from the road helps insure a good nights rest. We look forward to seeing you again soon on a future stay.
Kind Regards,
Glenn, Co-owner.

Jackman is a very small town in western Maine, about 16 miles from the Canadian border with Quebec. It's location is on the beautiful Old Cnada Scenic Byway which in fall is one of the most pleasurable places to go for leaf peepers. Bishops is a great choice. The rooms are large, high speed Internet is provided as well as a great continental breakfast. What makes the motel additionally charming is the friendliness of its staff. The proprietor, Glenn is a warm person who goes out of his way to make sure that guests have a comfortable stay. He is a wealth of information on the area and really makes you feel at home. A great Innkeeper in the traditional sense of the word. Stay at this place and you can't go wrong.

I was traveling to Quebec City with my family and found this motel to be a good stop to rest. I had just seen two moose and it was raining out so I felt it was safer to stop. The front desk lady was very pleasant and helpful. The room had two queen size beds with very comfortable matresses, flat screen tv and fridge and microwave. They are about 20.00 higher than the other older motels but after looking at the others it is worth the price. The free breakfast in the morning was also good. Big breakfast room and good selection of food. The air conditioner was the old fashion wall type but worked well. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and would go back without hesitation.

Outside of hotel very appealing. The hotel's exterior carpeted flooring looked tacky and worn; needs replaced. The stairwells were sub-par in comparison to the other areas of the hotel. Carpet dirty and stairwell walls made out of painted chipped board. Room furnishings older but adequate. Pillows and bedding dated and low quality. Room layout was less than appealing. Rooms were large but had the bathroom sink in the bedroom area; looked to be part of the sleeping area not the bathroom. Room was pretty clean. Some stains on carpeting. Nice windows; but keeping them open meant everyone could look in. Nice area in basement for breakfast. Served an okay continental breakfast. Owner was nice and friendly.

Thank you for lodging with us at Bishops Motel. We are glad that you thought the outside of our motel was very appealing, we get a lot of compliments about the flowers! You noticed that the carpet was worn and needed to be replaced, we agree! We are always reinvesting into our motel to meet our customers' expectations. We have replaced all of the outside carpeting as of May of 2013. We have also replaced all bedding with top quality Serta bed sets. We believe in keeping our property the best around. We look forward to your next visit so you can see all the improvements.

Kind Regards, Glenn

In Jackman, Maine, you really don't have much of a choice when it comes to lodging but with Bishop's Motel, you don't need much to chose from. My co-worker and I stayed one night at Bishop's Motel before moving on to another location to continue our business. The staff was warm and friendly, and never once treated us any differently than the locals. if I had to complain about anything, it was that the room (although very, very clean and presentable) did smell somewhat like an old gym bag (or perhaps it was just me).

I would definitely stay at this motel again and will recommend it to others traveling in the Jackman area.

I'm always scared when I only see 'motels' in rural places when snowmobiling. This place is my favorite in Jackman. Very clean and large rooms. Staff are very nice and accommoding, and has direct access to ITS trail for snowmobiling. Close to local bars/restaurant that are within walking distance. Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel, and have been going back every year.
