“Even without the dogs, we came back!”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

We've been to the Hounds Tooth Inn several times with our Border Collie, Scout, and have had amazing times. Randee and Norm are the perfect hosts for both people and dogs. :-)
John is vegetarian and Randee goes out of her way to make wonderful veggie breakfasts for him.
I echo all the other reviews as to how caring and welcoming they are to four-legged friends!
We now have two Border Collies and decided to travel without them this summer - but didn't even think about NOT coming here because we were without dogs.
Wonderful, warm, friendly and relaxing - already looking forward to the next time!

We stayed at Hound's Tooth Inn after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, and it was just as described and more! Randee and Norm were so welcoming and took such great care of us and our dog. Randee knew all the good places for us to visit - the pet friendly restaurants, stores, hiking spots, beaches... we followed her recommendations and had such a great time. And the breakfast was amazing - healthy food never tasted better! We just got home and are already planning for future vacations at their inn. I would give it 6 stars if I could!

If you take your dogs on vacation with you, this is the perfect spot for you. Randee doesn't just put up with dogs, she goes out of her way to make sure you and your dogs are happy, well fed and comfortable. She'll also tell you about all the dog-friendly spots to visit. I'm gluten and dairy free and she tailored the breakfast to suit my needs and recommended restaurants where I might be able to find a good meal. You'll be treated like part of the family. The room we stayed in was lovely and clean with plenty of space for our 2 golden retrievers and unlike other "pet-friendly" places the dogs are allowed on the furniture. We'll definitely be going back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Kings court - it's a 2 room suite with a fridge on the ground floor for easy ac...

We only live about an hour away from Hounds Tooth Inn and found it sort of on a whim when looking for a quick weekend away. I would say we found the perfect place. Hounds Tooth is so much more than an inn that lets you bring dogs. This place is all about the pooches! Randee reviewed all the local spots for us to frolic with our dog, as well as restaurants with outdoor seating that welcome dogs. We filled our time there easily.

Room Tip: We stayed in King's Court and it was wonderful. Extremely spacious with large bedroom area, larg...

This is the perfect blend of small inn and B&B. Randee makes sure you know all of the pet friendly stores, restaurants, beaches, and parks in the area. She cooks a delicious breakfast tailored to guest's tastes. She is very flexible. The room was meticulously clean and comfortable. Guests have access to the kitchen and freshly baked brownies, candy, dog treats, and coffee. It is a great value in a convenient location. Easy to get to everything. Can't imagine there could be anyplace better in this category of accommodations if you are traveling with a dog.

This was our third trip to the Hounds Tooth Inn and it was as delightful as our first! Randee and Norm go out of their way to make sure your visit will result in cherished memories. Their desire, it seems, is to make you never want to leave!! The rooms are as lovely as ever and Randee's culinary skill makes breakfast at the Hounds Tooth a great experience. She will tweak her ingredients to your individual taste, so you can be adventurous or not. You can expect, however, that whatever is served will be delicious, nutritious and filling! Even though the weather worked against us that week, we managed to get the dogs to the beach and dog park in between the rain showers. It is so easy to relax at the Hounds Tooth inside or out. It is definitely a place where the humans can recharge their energies while their dogs expend their own. In fact, our dogs were exhausted by the time we got home! Our lives have been enriched from meeting other guests at the breakfast table, where the lively conversation and laughter never stops! We can't wait to return to the Hounds Tooth!!

Upon driving in, we were greeted personally at our car and taken on a tour of the facilities by Randee. She immediately made us feel welcome along with our two adorably vocal dogs. We were shown the kitchen and where everything was so that we felt at home. While we were there, we had the opportunity to meet the owner's dog as well as the other guest's dogs in the backyard fenced in dog area.

Randee is a wonderful cook and hostess as she wanted to make sure everyone's dietary concerns were taken care of. We were told that the beaches are open to dogs only to 9am and after 5pm during the summer (all day the rest of the year) and that breakfast would be ready at 9.

Randee was also quite helpful with other dog friendly activities in the area. Of note for my wife and I was a wooded section 1/2 mile from the Inn with over 2 more miles of trails for our dogs to be off leash and perfectly suitable for running. There were only a few wet sections where we needed to stop to walk around. There is also a Bridle path within walking distance of the Inn as well as other dog areas for on/off leash activities within a short drive.

We stayed in the Lord's Lair which was quite spacious. Most hotel rooms, you tend to lay your stuff out along every inch of wall space available. In here, there was plenty of room for everything along with our crate for the two dogs and not be tripping over anything.

As I said in the title though, even if you don't have pets, you would not be disappointed with this place as the rooms are meticulously cleaned and the breakfasts are personally prepared. The location is easy to find and within minutes of the beaches and area activities.
