“Maine's best B&B regardless if you have dogs”

We just got home from our trip to Maine and would like to say that we can't wait to come back to the Hounds Tooth Inn with our 3 furry kids. Many places will take 1 dog but Randy & Norm were great, allowing us to bring our 3 border collie children. We had a wonderful time. Randy is a great cook and she is a wonderful spokesperson for the area. She really helps you with ideas about where to take you dog and fun things for both of you. The rooms are bright and tastefully decorated. I would recommend this Inn to anyone in a heartbeat. Thanks so much!

Whether or not you are traveling with pets, the Hounds Tooth Inn is a magnificent place to stay in Maine. Lovely spacious grounds and rooms, a fantastic breakfast prepared by the inn owners, ( with veggies from their backyard garden), great advice on local restaurants and itineraries and only 5 minutes from everywhere you'll want to be. All that aside, it is also the most dog friendly accommodation I have ever experienced. They don't just allow dogs here they embrace them. The dogs are treated like humans, "roam free and be merry" could be the mantra". Oh, and of course our Rhodesian mix was about as happy as he could be going to the dog beach twice a day, which made us quite happy as well!

Our stay at the Hounds Tooth Inn was wonderful. For a vacation with pets, I have not stayed at anywhere better. We brought our two dogs and had a great time. Randee and Norm are the most welcoming people and were very accommodating to anything we needed. They gave great recommendations for pet friendly things to do around Kennebunk, and made us feel like we were at home there. I would recommend this place to everyone. We had a great time and will definitely stay with them again.

My husband and I spent 4 nites at the inn with our 1.5 year old great dane...and it was the most relaxing, clean and comfortable place that we have stayed to date with a pet. We felt right at home as did our giant breed pup from the second we entered the yard and beautifully restored farm house. Randee and Norm are wonderful people with the comfort of their guests always their first concern; from the wonderful daily breakfasts catering to the dietary concerns of each human to the recommendations of all things pet-friendly in the area and in the surrounding towns. A wonderful inn to spend quality time with your pet in/out on adventures...not a place to keep your dog in the room unattended and lonely...there is a local doggy-day-care if a human-only time is needed.

We've stayed at pet tolerant hotels, B&Bs annd inns but have never before found any that are truly welcoming to travelers with pets. Randee and Norm are the best hosts I can imagine, making our stay relaxed and enjoyable. The room we shared with our two small dogs was clean and roomy, with lots of natural light. The grounds are designed to make traveling with dogs easy - plenty of lawn, a corrall where dogs can be offf leash, and a patio surrounded by lovely gardens. Randee provided a wealth of guidance about local restaurants and activities - ones that could be enjoyed by both people and pets. Her recommendations were on target. Randee served family style breakfests to the Inn's guests - healthy, tasty and freshly prepared. There were no negatives to this experience.

Randee and Norman offered a very rare but, most welcomed experience foe not only my husband and I but for our two dogs as well. I can honestly say that I have never felt so welcomed or at ease in any lodging situation as I have at the Hounds Tooth Inn in Kennebunk, ME. The location is ideal for a nice walk into town but, being on the outskirts of town gives the inn a quieter surrounding. I would not hesitate recommending this establishment to any of my friends and I am certain we will be staying there again ourselves.

From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were at home. Randee and Norman are the most gracious and hospitable innkeepers. First, Josie (our Tibetan Terrier) was given a tour of the grounds, her special places, and the wonderfully restored farm house. Everything was geared toward making her vacation the best. Although there are only 4 guest rooms, this was perfect, as with any more animals it would have been too chaotic. Randee is a wonderful cook and breakfasts were divine. Randee gave us tons of information everyday on things to do, especially including Josie. Although, the Inn is not right on Kennebunkport beach, this was perfect for Josie. The Inn is close to the Kennebunk dog park (which was great), and the huge Rachel Carson preserve, which was wonderful. If you want a vacation and bring your pet along, the Hounds Tooth Inn is the place to be.
