We recently stayed at The Hounds Tooth Inn in Kennebunk, Maine with our "girls" during the Christmas Prelude Celebration. For people who like to vacation with their dogs, this is the place! Not only was host Randee most welcoming and gracious, she knows the area and where to send you. The inn in immaculate, the breakfasts outstanding, rooms lovely, and Kennebunkport has to be the most welcoming town for pooches- with leash free beaches, welcoming shop owners and restaurants, and poop bags and disposals everywhere! We will definately be back.

We stayed in the Kings Court room with our 2 dogs a scottie and westie. (Simon and Matilda). The room was spacious and comfrotable and VERY clean. The Inn Keepers were very friendly and knowledgable about all the places to visit that are dog friendly. They made us feel at home and you can tell they truly love dogs and everything about them.

This was such a find and was so glad that we took the advice of fellow trip advisors. My husband and I stayed here the first part of September and we loved it. We were attracted to this B & B because they were dog friendly and that is was rated #1 as far as B & B's in the area. Although we did not travel with dogs we were looking forward to meeting the dogs that were lodging with us, (in the other rooms that is:))

Norm and Randee were great, accommodated us as far as being vegetarians. They didn't just leave off the meat but, provided meatless patties to go along with the breakfast. We stayed in the room Queens Chamber's. Very nice and very clean. Not a smell of dog anywhere!

They also know the area well and suggested several sites to see and places to eat. They recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner in which we took them up on and was so glad we did.
The only complaint we would have is that the air conditioner in the room was pointing right at your face when you were sleeping. Otherwise, no complaints at all.

All around a great place to stay and very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again!

We arrived late and without a reservation yet Randee and Norm greeted us with warmth and no fuss. We were immediately made to feel at home. The downstairs suite (King's Court) has two very large rooms and ensuite. It is part of the original 1843 farmhouse. The building may be old but the facilities are not. There's a large guest kitchen with delicious cake and tea / coffee making available all night long.
The home cooked breakfast was outstanding. Unlike chain hotels, here you eat off crockery and with real cutlery - no plastic or paper.
Randee and Norm's knowledge and information about the Kennebunk area is excellent and they were very helpful about where to get a meal and how best to travel to the local sights and amenities. They were great conversationalists, without being intrusive. Thanks Randee and Norm - we had a great time!

We had such an enjoyable time over a weekend with Innkeeper Randy and her husband. They are the most welcoming, endearing folks we have met in a long time. Although we did not bring our four-legged friends along, next year we definitely will! Rooms are lovely and spacious. Decor is fun. Breakfasts are the best. Thanks for a wonderful time!

The Hound's Tooth Inn and its owners Randee and Norm were all that we had hoped for and more. The restored farm property is pastoral and lovely and the rooms spacious, charming and elegant. The inn and property are both impeccably kept. Norm and Randee provided a very warm welcome and Randee's breakfast was amazing- a real treat! The conversation was also as good as the meal. This was a family vacation for us prior to taking our son to university for his first year of study so the whole family came along, including our five year old Golden Retriever, Striker. Norm knew everyone by name before we had even stepped out of the SUV.

Striker is exhuberant and friendly and offered a big smile upon arrival. This was "doggie heaven" but also a quality and elegant accomodation for the whole family. Randee provided us with a wealth of information and the inside track on all of the places to see and the pet friendly dining establishments as well. We loved Kennebunke and Kennebuckport and the dog friendly beach just minutes away alone is worth the visit. Striker had the time of his life on this gorgeous, flat sandy beach. Kennebuck is a charming riverside town with spectacular sea captain homes and striking architecture. It has a great downtown area with unique shops and is very scenic. In the Cape Porpoise area we found some of the best seafood ever at the Chowder House where Striker was able to join us on the wharfside patio. And as Nova Scotians, we know good seafood. The area is beautiful and we also came home with some great photos. We definitely hope to return to the Hound's Tooth Inn again and to make our next visit a longer stay.

This was our first stay at the Hound's Tooth, but it certainly won't be our last. Owner's Randee and Norm understand a profound truth about pet-lovers: People tend to bond much more quickly and deeply through their dogs. The atmosphere at the inn is about as friendly as we've ever experienced anywhere. Randee knows every pet-friendly restaurant and attraction in the area and is spot-on with her recommendations. She's an amazing cook, and the breakfasts are to die for. And they do go the extra mile with a smile. One night, we came back from town, and I realized I'd forgotten my bag at the restaurant. Norm could see I'd had a few glasses of wine and insisted on driving back there himself and retrieving the bag. This is just one example of the extraordinary level of care these folks put into their business. Highest recommendation!
