This is an easy place, what we'd call a gastropub in the UK. A great advantage is that almost all of the Kennebunk reataurants close their kitchen about 9pm, but those that are bars as well stay open, and that meant we could eat here at (for us Brits) a more civilized hour, and we did, three times. We'd recommend the sharing platters, especially the seafood one. Salmon mousse, fantail shrimp, white anchovies, tuna tartare etc meant we could both indulge our favorites. But you need to check out the noise levels. On two nights it was quiet enough, but on our last night the boozy crowd who were on the outside tables came inside, and we could barely hear ourselves eat! We think a quiet meal means going about 9pm on a Tuesday! And it is very much worth it.

We visited this place three different times during our 6 day stay in Kennebunk last week! Great beer selection for my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the Blueberry Collins! The manager/owner was on site during every visit and even remembered us the second time we came in! Great service too! And a superb happy hour!! A must while you are in town!

Lovely atmosphere and nice selection of cocktails and wine. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you are celiac, this is gluten-friendly and they have a dedicated GF fryer. The serving sizes were generous, even for small plates. I didn’t give 5 stars because our filet came well done when we requested medium and if you want items perfectly timed it doesn’t happen. Very casual and comfortable. We will return.

Enjoyed my last visit to Old Vines as always. Had shishito peppers and cheese plate which did not disappoint. Great place to relax and enjoy snacks and drinks with friends. Server was friendly and excellent as always. I will definitely return on my next trip to Kennebunk.

Sometimes when you`re not hungry but want to get out of the house,a fine dining restaurant is not appropriate nor will fast food be an option.
In Kennebunk, the Old Vines has a varied menu ,including small plates and of course fine yet inexpensive wines by the glass.
Since their spacious patio was at capacity,we were escorted to a nearby couch to wait for a table which quickly became available.
I opted for the smoked salmon which was nicely napped with lightly herbed sour cream and capers. My wife`s pita pizza was topped with a white sauce and liberally spread with fresh herbs. We shared both with a fine pour at $6.50 a glass far below market price in this town.
The attentive and friendly service at each table was noticeable from greeting to to the good bye wave.
It was a splendid summer evening among locals, regulars and tourists all enjoying Old Vines
