“Charming”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

This is a very charming and comfortable place. Our room was large as was the bathroom. The screened porch was a wonderful place to sit with the owners and talk. You can walk to Main Street and Iris a short drive to Kennebunkport. We plan to stay here again and recommend this Bed and breakfast highly.

Room Tip: Room #7 is very large with two chairs, TV and AC.

What more can you ask for? A charming and comfortable B and B with all the amenities. Wonderful hosts who love people and could not be more accommodating. An opportunity to meet other people. A way to see Maine in its finest with all of the best recommendations from Betsy and Paul.

Note to self: Go here more often!

Room Tip: Just talk to Betsy about what you need and like!

The Elizabeth Rose House has it all. The hosts, Betsy and Paul, were attentive and anticipated our needs. The room was spotless, the bed was heavenly, and the bathroom was as big as some NYC hotels I've stayed in. The breakfast offered was full of fresh fruit and delectable baked goods, & Betsy even provided strong Scottish tea and cream. The location was ideal, with lovely local walks and close to downtown Kennebunk (don't miss the Saturday farmers' market). The price was very reasonable and the piece d'resistance was Betsy and Paul's rescued Yorkie named Chloe. Like her owners, Chloe made us right at home without being intrusive (she is VERY well behaved). I am so glad to have found this gem in Kennebunk. I look forward to staying here again.

We came back to the Elizabeth Rose House over the July 4th weekend to celebrate our 1st anniversary. As before, Betsy and Paul (the inn's owners) made us feel right at home. They keep their home very clean and will go out of their way to make you feel like part of the family. The inn is quite and roomy. We are from Georgia, so we really enjoyed the cool mornings on the screened porch while drinking our coffee. Betsy is a great baker and breakfast is always good! Betsy and Paul are both very knowledgeable about the area and can give suggestion on what to see and do. If you are looking for a place to stay while in Kennebunk, Maine the Elizabeth Rose House cannot be beat! We will certainly be visiting again next year.

Well what can you say about this place let us start with the most important ingredients your hosts Betsy and Paul, we knew we would love this place because when we first made contact by e-mail we were invited to contact Betsy to discuss the booking further by telephone. After a lengthy conversation most of it one way from Betsy we knew we had found ourselves a character and what looked like a great place to stay.

We have just arrived home back in the UK and what a memorable time we had at Elizabeth Rose House our final stop on our tour.

Paul was on hand to welcome us on arrival and showed us the beautifully presented house and the wonderful and comfortable rooms we had booked, he greeted us with the welcoming comment of 'We want you to think of this place as your own' and that is what we did, last one in at night locked the door and put out the lights, literally !

Breakfast was in the main 'a do it yourself production' where some of Betsy's home made contributions featured, the remainder was laid out for you or you found it by searching in the cupboards in the quaint kitchen. As Betsy said 'If it's not out just look through the cupboards it's in there somewhere, treat it like home and help yourself'. There were times Betsy did the searching because she could not recall where she had put things.

Both Paul and Betsy would join you in conversation and were genuinely interested in their guests and their travel plans. They seemed to be getting as much pleasure out of this experience as we did. Guests were encouraged to mingle and we met some lovely fellow guests.

Now one thing they do know about is recommending eateries every one in our four night stay was a recommended venue and all were a hit, this and only 4 miles from Kennebunkport.

The B&B has plentiful off road parking is conveniently located and is a beautiful home. Well presented and equipped rooms with plentiful communal areas. Access to the kitchen and it's contents were available as you wish.

Betsy and Paul offered us the parking permit and chairs for use whilst spending a day at the beach which was great day. We cannot recommend this place enough it is value for money great fun and ran by two lovely people. We WILL be back.

Room Tip: All looked beautiful we stayed in The Boon Island which includes a featured oval window which has no...

Stayed at ERH in early June, and Paul and Betsy were thoughtful in addressing all our needs. Paul even noticed that I was eating a banana (that I had brought) shortly after our arrival, and made a trip to the store to get some for me for breakfast. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Short walk to Kennebunk downtown, but it’s better to drive to Kennebunkport if that’s what you’re interested in. Still, a great value for the price. The innkeepers were fantastic at getting us a map and directions and recommendations, and they also provided us with a “Resident’s Guest” Beach Pass, so we didn’t have to buy our own. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Room Tip: Nubble Light Room was great, faced the street but no noise to speak of. Betsy mentioned it had rece...
