We arrived while it was raining, they came running out with umbrellas. We were seated at a table with a wonderful view of the garden. Our server was very nice and knowledgable. Great local oysters with a cucumber mignonette. Nice salad with local greens. The sole was outstanding. The sear scallops were very good, but the plate was a little to busy. The wine pours were generous. Overall a good experience.

My husband and I chose this place for our 1st Anniversary dinner. It was SO romantic. The sailboat outside with the white lights and the decor inside plus the piano music was just perfect. We are so happy we decided to go here!
The host greeted us warmly and after seating us and hearing it was our anniversary returned to the table with 2 complimentary glasses of champagne. He wanted to thank us for choosing On the Marsh among all the other places in town and were just so touched.
Our server was great and the food was delicious. We had the steak and scallops and I had the corn chowder to start - yummy!
Definitely recommend on the marsh to anyone that wants to venture away from the hustle and bustle of downtown KPT. Sidenote - it IS within walking distance from downtown. It's a bit longer of a walk, maybe 15-20 minutes from downtown but it was a beautiful night so why not? Sidewalks all the way to the restaurant. Dress code is a bit fancier than the other downtown places. No flip flops. Thank you On the Marsh for a memorable anniversary!!!!!!!!!

Most gorgeous place for a wedding. The building was amazing. Best wedding I've ever been too. Everything from getting ready to the ceremony to the reception was just perfect.

Elaine and I visited on 6/6/14. We were pleased to see John at the door. He's always made us feel special when he's served us before. He seated us at a wonderful table introduced us to Kimberly who explained the High Wine Dinner menu. It was awesome! Proper dining. Three small plates, entree and dessert perfectly matched with three glasses of wine (that are available on the wine list). I intentionally haven't said what was served because it varies from Friday to Friday, but we left comfortably full. It reminded us of the way Europeans eat. Small, interesting servings eaten slowly to savor. Great fun. The High Wine Dinner is only available on Fridays and each guest in your party can choose the High Wine or order off the menu.

Elaine and I will be Friday regulars this summer. So, when you make your reservations (definitely suggested), mention this review and ask John or Kimberly to introduce us.

This was our first stay in Kennebunkport and I had been told by a friend to try On the March. His praise for this restaurant was absolutely accurate.

As we drove down the driveway we first saw how beautiful and tranquil the grounds were. We were not more than a quarter mile from the busy Kennebunkport downtown area. It was so nice to be at this oasis

John, was the host who met us as we came into this beautiful restaurant. He was very personable and it set the tone for the rest of the evening. We were seated next to the window which had view of the area behind the restaurant. Magnificent!

Our server was so nice. She took our drink orders and brought us the artisan cheese and meat appetizer. The homemade meats and the cheeses were tremendous. We spent 20 - 30 minutes just enjoying this with a great glass of wine. My wife ordered the butter poached Lobster and I had the lamb and both were terrific. The sides with both were also great. For dessert my wife had the duo chocolate and I had the trio of sorbet with a cappuccino. Another great course. As the check was brought to us the chef sent out a small dessert of whip cream with Amarretto. What a finish. We found the cost of the dinner to be less than we would pay for the same food in Boston and this dinner was so much better.

As good as the food was what I will remember is how beautiful the grounds were and how wonderful the service was. If you add that to a perfect meal, it was a night to remember. We can't wait to go back!
