What a great hotel. The rooms are all decorated differently and are beautiful. The service to top notch and the restaurant is worth making the trip, just to eat there. How romantic!!! The pool is lovely and quite!! A perfect romantic weekend away! I could come back over and over!

Not quite sure where to start. My better half and I stayed here for 2 nights in late May. From the moment we arrived until we departed we enjoyed every moment. We stayed in the Loft Suite which is an extremely luxurious and spacious suite with its own entrance in the old barn. A huge bathroom with steam shower and vast jacuzzi tub, its only little private balcony, a king size bed, desk, dining table, seating area and gas fireplace. The hotel itself sits in very pleasant wooded grounds with a refreshing smell of pine every time you step outside. We did not attempt the pool but in warmer months this would be a very restful place to relax and let a day pass by. The restaurant is very good - breakfast is buffet style with the option to order cooked items from a menu should you wish. The dinner is also very good - we opted for the 4 course option on one of the evenings we were there and were glad we had 'starved' ourselves for the day as the portions are large and food rich. The wine list is also extremely extensive. On our second day we borrowed bikes from the hotel to do a little cycle tour of the area. The beach is about 5 minutes by bike and Kennebunkport 5 minutes the other way. You can also walk both in 10 minutes. It's not many hotels that we find ourselves sad to leave but this is definitely one of them. We did enquire about coming back one day with the kids, but in hindsight - it's one to keep for another adult getaway. It's certainly not the cheapest option in the area - but it's certainly the best.

Room Tip: The Loft Suite really is a Treat!

We stayed at the WBI last summer during camp visiting day weekend & have booked it again for this summer. The location is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the center of town. The hotel will give you bikes if desired but we preferred walking. The beaches are just a short car ride (or bike ride) away. Note that the beaches are not particularly beautiful & not a must-see. Our room was not too large but it was recently redone & perfectly suited our needs. What was great for us was being able to stay at a high-end place instead of roughing it at one of the many b&b's (or a Marriott) a little closer to camp. All those other places jack up their pricing for camp visiting weekend so we didn't pay that much more to stay in luxury. The hotel has an arrangement with nearby sister properties so you can use the fitness center at one of them & the kayaks at the other. My favorite thing about WBI is having its world class restaurant right downstairs. The dinners are sublime & the breakfast are above & beyond typical hotel cuisine. What a convenient treat! We cannot wait to return this summer.

Stayed here for my wedding anniversary for 5 days & I can't say enough about the place and the staff. They couldn't do enough for us & our room was stunning. We were pretty much snowed in for most of the trip but it didn't matter one bit. I love this hotel & will return in the near future

My husband and I were saving up for our honeymoon, but still wanted to get away for a quick trip after our wedding! The White Barn Inn was the perfect location for us! The staff was amazing, the inn was so charming and it was the perfect romantic getaway for some much needed R&R after a hectic 9 months of wedding planning! Dining at the White Barn Inn is an experience like no other, if you get the chance and you want a dining experience in a comfortable atmosphere, this is the place to do! The food is amazing, but it was the home made bread and croissants that I still dream about!

Wonderful stay during Christmas Prelude. We stayed in the Red Suite and cannot wait to return!

The positives:
-walking distance to town
-excellent staff who calls you by name and makes sure every need is met
-Red Suite had wood burning fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and very comfortable king sized bed
-room welcome with champagne and snacks
-afternoon tea with many types of teas, coffee, cookies, sandwiches
-very nice massage (although don't expect large spa facilities with locker, steam rooms, etc)
-proximity to the not to be missed White Barn Inn restaurant (incredible)

The negatives (not really negatives, just things that could make this even better)
-the breakfast included in the room rate should include at least 1 hot item-it is primarily pastries
-turn down service was not up to par with other 5 star hotels. No placing robe/slippers by bed, no cookies or chocolates, minimal tidying up

The staff was wonderful and go out of their way to make you happy. It is not the cheapest accommodations around the area, but if you want to best experience during the prelude celebration come here. Even with a couple hick-ups they kept delivering!!
