Beautiful inn, gorgeous setting, friendly staff. Delightfully set on the ocean, far from the busloads of tourists who cram the town. Calm, quiet and relaxing.

Our room was lovely and had a view of the gardens, the ocean and the Walker estate (Bush compound).

My only complaint was that the clerestory windows in our room (which had a vaulted ceiling) let in a lot of moonlight. Since we were there during the full moon, it made the room very bright at night. Some shades on those high windows would have made the experience perfect.

Room Tip: If moonlight keeps you awake, avoid Adrift, which has clerestory windows in the vaulted ceiling with...

This is our third trip to Cape Arundel Inn. It is quiet and peaceful. We stayed in the Rockbound units and enjoyed our privacy. We sat on our balcony in the evening and enjoyed the sunset with a glass of wine. We were disappointed with the breakfasts. Breakfasts did not measure up to our previous visits. I was rather put off with the snacks for sale in the rooms and the martini shaker advertising $45 martinis for two. Plus they took up much needed areas to put "stuff". The new owners may want to rethink these "improvements".

Room Tip: The Sagamore is a good room in the Rockbound. This year it was booked so we had the Wentworth with...

After a previous wonderful stay, I was excited to return. It was disappointing. The view and the porch as still spectacular. I enjoyed the bikes. BUT, the food at dinner and breakfast were sadly disappointing. In addition, the shower in my room was impossibly small (and I am only 5'2") and the one very large chair in the room was oddly situated with no reading light at night. I am not sure I would repeat my stay.

Room Tip: Room 1, 2 and 3 are the best in the main house with fabulous views.

This was our 3th trip to the Cape Arundle Inn. It is still a lovely place right on the Atlantic Ocean. Most of the rooms look out on the water, and the room we had allowed for a full view of a beautiful sunrise from the comfort of our bed! It has always been a comfortable and relaxing spot, with a 5 star dining room. This year it is under new owners, and although the furnishings and rooms are the same, the atmosphere is not the same. It is now advertised as a "boutique inn". And although the staff was cordial, that friendly, homey atmosphere was gone. It was almost a bit "snooty" in feel. I'm not sure we will return for a 4th time.

Room Tip: Room 4, has bay windows looking out at the ocean, Room 3 is smaller, but a corner room looking at th...

Thank you for taking the time to review our Inn. Also we thank you for your repeated business. We are thrilled you enjoy the wonderful water views as much as we do. We are sorry to read you are not happy with our changes this year. All of our rooms have been freshly renovated during our 2012 season, along with our common areas in 2013. We do hope you visit us again and thank you for your continued business.

I visted Kennebunkport back in August and after review of 4 different accomodations I decided to stay at the Cape Arundel Inn. We reserved the Carriage House, and though it is more expensive than what I would have like to pay, it was worth it. Great setting, up and away from all the other guests and feel like you have your the who house to yourself. Great views of the water from up there too. I decided on this spot because of the proximity to the water, the porch over looking the sea and the amenities. Borrowed the bikes and rode up the street to the beach and relaxed for a few hours, or you could even take them into town if you had the energy. It would a be a decent bike ride, pretty long walk or a very quick and short drive which we did each time. Park near the fire house, free and easy parking. 5 minute walk into town.

Had dinner at the Ocean Cape Arundel Inn which is on the premise too our first night. Looking forward to lobster, and the only dish they had with lobster was sold out?!?! How does one run out of lobster in Maine, didn't think that was possible. Anyways, our meals were great service was helpful both night and mornings. Breakfast too was incredible actually, hope they have the chocolate chip banana bread made up - SO GOOD!

Great trip, definitely recommend this place for a weekend!

Thank you for reviewing our Inn! We are so happy to read you enjoyed our carriage house. It is in a wonderful location on our property which affords one of the best views! Our location on Ocean Avenue provides us with a tranquil setting for bike rides, afternoons at the beach and cocktails on the porch. We are happy to read you enjoyed both of your meals at Ocean as well. We look forward to another "great escape" Thank you again!

Atmosphere, location, friendly staff, top chef, beautiful rooms... And the views are incredible on an August sunny day. I loved this Inn as a teen when I lived in this town. My parents and I would eat here and those memories are fond. So, when selecting a venue to be wed at, this special jewel was my top choice. The renovation was icing on the cake. Sophisticated, romantic and elegant... Though not stuffy. We thought that the chef did a fantastic job preparing our courses. They even looked creative on the plate. The new wine bar is a great feature. The decorations we added were simple, so that everything was well coordinated with style. Our guests filled the Inn for three nights and loved every minute of it. Beautiful rooms, clean and air-conditioned. The breakfast selection was great. I felt so special being here with my closest friends and family members. I will treasure those memories for life.

Room Tip: The best seats are the wooden adirondaccks on the property. Get out of your room and enjoy the loun...
