This inn is right on Goose Rock Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine. Although a bit pricey, the staff works very hard to make your stay memorable. They provide beach chairs, towels and umbrellas so you don't have to lug all of your own gear. Cold water is available on the beach all day. If you desire, a picnic lunch will be brought out to you so that you do not loose one minute of the beach. We did dine at the restaurant and found the dinners to be very good and the service excellent. If you go, try the watermelon cosmo.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel.
Looking again into the Trip Advisor's previous reviews I was astonished to read the review by Larmar 055 from August 20.
I totally agree with that review so that it seems that the problems indicated persist and are probably standard for this hotel.
We also paid a hefty sum of around $ 600.00 per night and we got a "small" room with an extremely small bathroom ( about 3x6 ft ), albeit the view was really ocean view and just across the street from the beach.
But the dismal quality of the breakfast is really unacceptable, as mentioned by the previous reviewer. I would like to add that there were constantly flies having a feast over the trays from were we had to self serve the offerings of awful muffins and poor salami and cheese. We complained and had to suggest to at least use a fan to get rid of the flies, because they did not offer any other solution!
I agree that the night scene is lively and certainly a lot of alcohol is consumed, while the music blasts. If you enjoy that you would be happy.

Greetings cmenf and thank you for your critique of the Tides Beach Club
We welcome constructive criticism and are gracious to those who show great honesty in their review on something they did not particularly care for or love. These comments we accept and see as fair suggestions on how to improve our operations and the way we provide great service to our guests.

In regard to your comments on our complimentary continental breakfast; our muffins, croissants, and quiches are baked fresh daily. I apologize that you found the breakfast portion of your stay inadequate. Our chef welcomes any suggestions you may have that will better our breakfast spread for future stays.

Due to the consistent warm and sunny weather we have been experiencing in Maine this year, we have witnessed a major jump in our wildlife population, unfortunately insects are included in this bunch. The drastic spike in the fly population is fortunately a short-lived one and as the nights have become cooler we have seen a drastic drop in their presence. We are sorry for the nuisance.

During the reservation process we always try to inform guests of the various room sizes available, though many of our rooms are petite, our guests find them well-appointed in offering all the modern amenities you’d find in most luxury hotels.

I would love for you to call me directly the next time you are planning a trip to Kennebunkport

My husband and I stayed at the Tides last week. I should start by saying we paid a very high rate for an ocean view room, so our expectations were very high. The room was spacious and clean, we had a fairly large balcony with an ocean front view with comfy chairs, the bed was comfortable and we were offered champagne upon arrival. However, we thought this was a B&B, which would have included a decent breakfast, the "breakfast" offered is insulting. We waited 10 mins for a cup of coffee, and when we asked for the buffet our "waiter" pointed to a tray of store bought croissants and muffins with a small bowl of fruit salad, for the prices we were paying and for the fact that this is a full kitchen restaurant, the breakfast is a total ripoff, also consider that the town is 10-12 minutes away by car. If they had served a decent breakfast the review would have been given another star, but we paid over $600 a nite and what they serve is totally unacceptable. The restaurant occupies the ground floor, the food for lunch and dinner is quite good. Consider that the restaurant and bar are quite lively at nite, with loud music playing, so if you want to settle in early it is NOT quiet. We had to finally call downstairs at 11:15pm one evening and ask that they turn off the music so we could try to sleep, it was extremely annoying. Not sure if we would stay again.

Room Tip: If you want an ocean view ask for a second floor room with a balcony.

Greetings Larmar055,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at The Tides Beach Club. We are pleased that you found our accomodations comfortable, though apologize we didn't exceed your expectations in regard to our complimentary continental breakfast. Delayed services are not the norm at our property and I assure you that our croissants, muffins, quiches and granola are baked fresh daily in our kitchen.
Our lively lobby, bar and restaurant serve the freshest local seafood available in the region. The Tides Beach Club boasts an upbeat atmosphere focused around lighting, design and music. Our marble and tufted leather bar has been a meeting place for Goose Rocks Beachers and tourists alike since we opened our doors in 2011. Creating a fun atmosphere in which guests and locals can relax and indulge is just as important to us as guest comfort. Though our bar scene is quite lively on a nightly basis, the music is regularly turned off by 11:30 pm as to not disturb in house guests from getting a good night's sleep.
We do hope you will visit us again. I would be happy to assist you personally in choosing a room in a quieter location within our hotel.

Best,

We stayed at The Tides this summer for two nights on the start of a nine day trip up the coast of Maine. It was by far the best service of any hotel we stayed at on our stay. From the rides to the sister property, the perfect beach to the delicious blueberry pie we ate on the lovely porch at night - everything was perfect. The suite was beautiful and I am only sorry we did not book it again for next summer. When I called, it was already booked! The sheets, towels, toiletries were all amazing as was the amazing view from our room.

Hidden Pond was beautiful as well and my massage there was the best one I have ever had. Dinner at Earth was so beautiful and our meal was great. I only wish we had more time at both resorts!

Room Tip: The suites were worth the money! The deck was beautiful and the room was huge!

Hello Kim 7847!

Thank you for choosing The Tides Beach Club as the first stop on your trip to Maine! We are so fortunate to have our sister property, Hidden Pond in such close proximity that our guests can enjoy the amenities at both properties with ease and convenience. The soft sands of Goose Rocks Beach, just steps away, coupled with the understated, natural elegance of our Tree Spa at Hidden Pond truly make for an unforgettable stay in Vacationland.
I will be sure to let our pastry chef know you thoroughly enjoyed his blueberry pie and will be sure we have it available for your next stay with us! See you soon!

Upon arrival, we were offered a glass of champagne at this wonderful B&B situated right across the street from the beach in a residential neighborhood. While parking was a little bit tight, sitting on the reasonably spacious front porch looking at the ocean with champagne in hand got us off to a good start. Our room on the second floor was delightful - queen bed, great shower and well furnished. While a somewhat late arrival at the continental breakfast resulted in limited offerings, dinner at the Tide's restaurant was really good. In addition, the sister hotel a few miles away has a terrific restaurant called 'Earth' and was one of the best dining experiences we had.

We had the unparalleled pleasure of being guests at The Tides Beach Club for two nights in August - we only wish it could have been a week! Newly renovated, this "club" is a friendly beach get away not to be missed http://www.tidesbeachclubmaine.com/.

The decor is beach perfect - comfortable and stylish with large windows and a great porch overlooking Goose Rock Beach. The owners have a love of photography which they have graced the walls and covered the lobby bookshelves with and an even greater love for the details that separate a good hotel from an amazing hotel - checkin with a glass of actually good champagne, tasteful beach decor of white wood and teal from lobby to rooms, L'Occitaine amenities, down pillows/comforters and high end linens, a lovely continental breakfast and an open welcoming lobby that flows effortlessly into the dining and bar area and is stylishly decorated with comfortably inviting white cotton overstuffed chairs in conversation groupings that allow for reading or working on your iPad/MAC, having dinner or drinks from the bar, and just hanging out talking or playing games - two of the oversized chairs flank a backgammon table. Plus, the staff is really nice to you! I never wanted to leave.

If you want a stylish beach vacation inn right on a relatively unpopulated beach you can't do better for the price than The Tides Inn Beach Club. Plus, you have reciprocal access to The Pond - a sister property - in the woods about 2 miles down the road with an adults only swimming pool and very trendy upscale restaurant called Earth with indoor and outdoor dining and a conversational fire pit blazing every night just off the outdoor bar.

Room Tip: Opt for the Queen room without a view and spend what you save on dinner at Earth.

This is the best, most clean and friendly "beach restaurant" that I've ever visited. It is literally across street from the beach and you can also order food from beach if you're staying at Hidden Pond or the Tides Beach Club.

They make a terrific Patron margarita and one of my favorite hamburgers. They are also kid friendly. Definitely worth a visit!
