Captain Fairfield Inn in Kennebunkport, Maine, is one of the best B&Bs we have experienced. This was our second trip to the area and loved the inn the first go around, so we booked a second time. We were there for four nights, and each morning were impressed with the breakfasts. Peter's cooking was fabulous...our first course consisted of fruit and/or yogurt with homemade granola, our second course was either a muffin filled with blueberries & cranberries, a 72 layer cream cheese biscuit, or a fabulous butterscotch coffee cake followed by either an omelette with various ingredients or made from scratch pancakes with a variety of fruit sauces. Jenny, Leigh, and Rob were incredible hosts. Our every need was met. Leigh gave us suggestions on driving tours of the coast and fall foliage. Our room was very cozy and comfy. The linens were incredible! The atmosphere of the inn was so friendly that we are planning our next trip back and will experience another stay in one of their many fabulous rooms. We highly recommend a stay at the inn! Guy & Cindy

My wife and I stayed at the Captain Fairfield for 2 nights and had aa wonderful time. The location is great, in a very quiet little street, 2 minute walk from the centre of Kennebunkport.

Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated (yes the floor boards do creak sometimes - as per the prevois review. BUT that is what old properties do!)

Peter & Jennifer were great, they gave us lots of information on where to visit and to eat (you must try Mables Lobstar Claw, 10 minute walk from the Inn, the food is fantastic)

The breakfasts were fantastic.

We would highly recommend the Inn to anyone.

While we don't feel a need to return to Kennebunkport, that thought doesn't reflect our great stay at the Captain Fairfield. We liked the location and its setting. Our room was very, very nice with antiques along side a flat screen TV! The linens were superb and the bed more than comfortable. We used the fireplace as it was cool and damp. The artfully prepared breakfast was wonderful, and we felt that Peter and Jenny did a fine job all around. We recommend it.

This small establishment has a lot of character and charm. Service is unobtrusive but attentive. All staff/ owners are very friendly.
Breakfasts are a feature and, to us a welcome change from the standard American buffets in larger hotels. We would certainly go back again and recommend to all who like a smaller but well run inn

Very elegant old sea-captain's house, well placed on a quiet road within easy walking distance of the town centre. Our bedroom (Captain Fairfield) was not very large, but well equipped and had a wonderful bed. We had a slight problem with the toilet cistern but this was fixed immediately we reported it. The hosts and owners were helpful and charming and the breakfasts were truly outstanding ( lovely light omelettes). Helpful details of local restaurants were available in the lounge. On our first night we tried 'Stripers' which was upmarket and elegant with lovely food and good service, on the second night we walked into town to 'Hurricane' which was very busy but we were given a window table as promised, outstanding seafood!
Altogether an excellent short stay enroute to Boston.
