Flat Rock Bridge Family Camping
Reviewed 25 July 2008

This was our third year and we came during the week on a Tuesday and left Thursday, the campground was dead and once we got there we were told in no uncertain terms we had too many kids, nowhere on the paperwork we received did it say anything other than the rustic cabin can accomodate six but we read that extra kids cost extra. We were willing to do that and they said it was not possible, they would rent us a second cabin full price or a tent site away from us where we could not see the children. My husband drove all the way home to get a tent. No one checked to see if any kids slept in that tent and they didnt. So it was not about safety as we saw plenty of security. We spent an extra 100.00 to pitch a tarp that no one checked. We didnt even put up a tent. And it was pouring the entire time and there was the lone tarp on its own site with no one there. And someone stole that before we left and we reported it and nothing was done. This was my daughters birthday camping trip and she always loved it here. We will never come back as they couldnt even meet us halfway. We paid almost 300.00 dollars for two nights and you cant check in until 3 and have to get out before noon.

If the owner would have even been polite about it we could have understood but when she said it wasnt about money and there was nothing she could do and then no one checked we knew where there priorities lied. They made us feel like we were doing something sneaky and they made the kids feel horrible.

This campground is everything for familys form theme weekends to games for children , movies at night. they now have new owners who are doing a great job at improving the campground and are great people, they are installing a bigger pool on the King side for 2008 season which is great for the children. I notice a lot of good changes this year and will be back.

Just got back from this campground. The sites are really jammed in and you have no privacy . No trees or anything. Most of the seasonal people had nicer sites. The campground need a lot of work and is really run down. There are no papertowels in the bathrooms and half broken old warm dryers. The floor were always soaking wet. The hot tubs were nice, when they decided to turn the heat on. You had to ask them to turn them on. they were luke warm until they turned the heat on. The beach is really small and was on a little pond with ducks. Entertainments was pretty good. They had a free move and d.j. one night. The pools were nice, but really cold. The brochure stated they were heated, but only to about 70 degrees. I guess they are trying to save on their energy bills. The water slide was really fun, but the matts they give you are all ripped to shreds. You would think they could atleast invest in new ones. The kiddie pool was a joke, a little bigger than a bath tub. The campground needs a lot of work and is really run down. If they just took the money and put it back into the campground, it really would make this place really special. They just have to want to do it.
