“OMG Italian Food!!”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

This is the best Italian Buffet in Central Maine by far! Fresh and always hot with a nice selection. Perfect for client meetings, staff meetings and even lunch with friends!! We choose Marco's for lunch, dinner and even for our catering needs! Happy to give a five star rating!

“Great Service, Great Food”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Marco's back when they were located on Lisbon street, We eat there every year for our anniversary and when we really want a great Italian experience. We absolutely love it there, we have had a few situations that the food wasn't what we expected, but once we talked to the waitress about it it was taken care of right away. We do have one waitress that we request when we attend, all the servers are great in all. I do have to agree with other comments on their lunch buffet, I do not care for what they have for selections. If you are a fan of baked stuffed shrimp I highly recommend it.

“Uninspiring Lunch Buffet”
Reviewed 19 April 2013

My daughter and I visited Marco's during lunch service (arriving at 12:45) on a weekday. Only one room was being used, with about 20 tables and 20 booths. We had a gift certificate specifically for their lunch buffet. Salad bar was well-stocked and offered a variety of veges and prepared salads. Bread (simple sliced Italian) was served to the table. The hot food offerings consisted of rice pilaf, roasted potatoes with skins left on, pasta in a cheese sauce, spaghetti; and a number of meat choices --- meatballs in sauce, pork or beef cubes in gravy, battered shrimp, and chicken pieces in a red sauce. Flavor of the offerings could only be described as blah; of greater concern was that all the "hot" items we selected (and we selected a fair number) were only room temperature. Dessert consisted of a nice array of cake bites (red velvet, chocolate, etc.) with a variety of frostings/toppings.

Price of mid-day buffet: $9.75 pp; beverages not included. (Soda was $2.79.)

For a $26, plus tip, mid-day meal for two, it was only an average experience. We probably would not go again.

Several turnoffs were being seated directly off the kitchen and hearing sounds of activity. In addition, kitchen staff, dressed in casual t-shirts and jeans and sporting headphones, would enter the dining area to replenish offerings. While we were seated immediately, we waited several minutes for our waitress, who was clearing tables, to arrive to take our drink order.

“Expect to wait and stay for a long time if it is busy.”
Reviewed 25 October 2012

We went for our Anniversary. It was very busy with people waiting, we where told it would be about 20 to 30 min for a table, then kids going to the Prom started rolling in. The service was poor, but the waitress did try and apologize frequently to us through out the meal. I wish she had just done her job so she would not have had to keep apologizing about her lack of ability. The food was okay, but we tried to order 2 different meals and the waitress came back to tell us they where out of what we had ordered due to it being busy. We had called and tried to make a reservation, but was told they do not take reservations, yet the Limo's pulling up with teenagers in Prom attire all seemed to get right in and all had reserved tables. We thought maybe the Prom was being held their, but was told it was not when we asked. We filled out a card that was on the table to win a free dinner, but ended up being contacted several times by a Time Share Rep that got angry with us and stated we had filled out the card at the Restaurant and would have to buy a time share in order to be put into the drawing to win a gift card. Not a big fan of scams like this, we called the restaurant and they said they had no idea it was a Time share offer. I find this hard to believe. We have not been back, but more because we just kind of forget about it existing. I might go back and try it on a week night when we would not have to wait 45 minutes for a table and then another 30 minutes for our meals to come. 3 1/2 hours out to eat was a bit to much for us.
