“Relaxing, restful and beautiful property”
Reviewed 13 September 2012

My husband and I stayed in cottage #29 for three nights in early September. The property was not fully booked, but still active. (We were looking for QUIET!) It was so nice to be that close to the ocean with lots of green space still and to hear the crashing waves as we relaxed and read on our porch. The cottage was very clean and well furnished. One more light for reading at night would have helpful, but over all we were very happy with the accommodations. The camp fire at night was a big hit with us. We enjoyed talking with other guests while we all gathered around the fire. (We skipped roasting marshmallows.) Breakfast each morning was wonderful, and I HIGHLY recommend the chocolate croissants. Camden is very close, so we enjoyed exploring that town, too. We will return to Glenmoor by the Sea again, hopefully to get a cabin in the first row next time! Cabin #29 is in the 2ND row. (No complaints.)

Room Tip: Cabins in the first row right above the rocky beach - nice!

Not what it seems by the Photos. Better!!!! Stayed Memorial Weekend. Now picture yourself here in the morning as the sun starts to ascend, walking a few hundred yards to one of two decks that are perched upon the cliffside overlooking the bay sitting in chairs, sipping your morning coffee before the kids wake up.Picture a family with kids who need constant entertainment. They come down to meet you when they wake and ask to go get some of the fresh cinnamon roles from the continental breakfeast( delicious). Two heated pools a Croquet court, disc golf course, tennis courts and nightly bon fires along with a set of playing cards and super friendly staff more than suplimented our kids with entertainment in between our planned outings durrinf the day (sailing trip on the bay, shopping in Camden etc).. This was a fantastic way to unwind for a weekend getaway from Boston. We have already rebooked for next year and am looking forward to my next stay. The only negative i found was i did not care for the coffee. but that may be do to my snooty palet after working in a coffee shop years ago.Which was also easily fixed... there is a great place for good gourmet coffee and fresh baked goods just up the road at a place named Dots where i also received fantastic service. The Cottage we stayed in had a king and queen and a small hide-a-bed along with a small kitchen. I would describe it as semi rustic and very clean and they are Very Dog friendly! Awesome!!!

Glenmoor by the Sea is well-situated for exploring the Camden area. Moreover, the setting and accommodations are really lovely. My family and I found our lodging -- a cabin near the water -- spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. The cabin had clearly been renovated in recent years and was clean and fresh. And the grounds have many pleasant diversions, although we didn't avail ourselves of any but the pool and the decks. This is an ideal place for kids and dogs, but it transcends its family ethos; there were plenty of couples enjoying themselves as well.

We stayed at Glenmoor August 13-15 to celebrate a 35th wedding anniversary. We used a Living Social deal. The deal called for a split of champagne when we arrived; they were out of splits so they gave us a full bottle! And it was Moet and Chandon that sells for $37.00!!
We stayed in St. Andrews in Room 14. The room was delightful with a canopy bed and a small frig as well as a micro-wave. The room was spotless. We had a nice deck,
and a great view to the Bay. All ages were at the Glenmoor, families with kids and old folks
like us. There was a firepit every night. There are cottages right next to the bay, but if you dont get a front row cottage, the price differential is not worth it. The walk from St.Andrews to the Bay, through beautiful lawns is only 5 minutes.
Camden was 4 miles away and a fun place to eat and shop.
We have already made reservations to stay next year--returning guests get a 40% discount.
Service was friendly and helpful, although the continental breakfast was somewhat lacking.

We recently stayed at Glenmoor by the Sea. These owners offer a variety of types of accommodations and we tried two of them. One was a cabin near the ocean (#35) and we found its one large room attractively decorated, very clean, spacious and comfortable. With a hide-a-bed couch, it is suitable for four people. It was a short walk to the ocean, which was in our view from the cabin. It was also right next to a heated pool. As we added a night on to our stay, and the cottage was already reserved, we moved to a two queen bed motel-type unit. Again, spotless, nicely decorated and, wlhile near the highway (Route #1), we never noticed any sounds of traffic. With a continental breakfast included, and croquet, soccer and firepit on the premises, it was a lovely place to stay. It was a very short walk to the ocean, which is always in view. Add in a lobby-present owner who was gracious and eager to be of any assistance, and you have a fairly reasonably priced large property that is perfect for a couple, for friends or for families. Belfast to the North and Camden and Rockland to the South are fun towns to poke around in (loved Coyote Moon women's shop in Belfast) and find nice restaurants. We'll stay here again! [...and did I say it was pet friendly? ;-) ]

Room Tip: Three of the small cabins are right on the ocean. Rest of property you can be happy anywhere!

There are (fairly) new co-owners who are often on-site. The grounds are beautiful! Lots to do on the property---frisbee golf, tennis, croquet, 2 swimming pools, decks overlooking the water, a fire every night with complimentary "smore's makings" for everyone.
When you call to book, ask if there are any disounts available. I mentioned that we'd stayed there before and immediately received a generous discount. The people on staff are very nice and accomodating. After spending several nights we decided to add one more on to the end of our stay. There was a festival in town and Glenmoor looked to be sold out, but Polly at the front desk managed to rework some things and put us in a great room.
Also, with the new ownership, some things are still in the works. The workout room and laundry room weren't quite ready when we were there, but will be nice additions for guests. Nothing against the Clean Bee Laundry in Camden but it'd be nice to be able to do laundrey and stay on the property.

Room Tip: The cottages are beautifully kept. Most by the water are a bit small, but worked well for our famil...

This is a wonderful location to the water and activities in the Camden area. Very clean cottage #36 with a view of the cean and near one of the swimming pools. Good area to walk the dog and get some exercise, it is all ona gradual hill. Cabins ar easy access. When i arrived I was greeted in a nice lobby living area. This is a wonderful place for a family, lots of activities on the sprawling green lawns. The fire pit was roaring when i arrived, although no one enjoying t in the drizzle. I recomend McClauighlins lobster pot.....casual and on the harbor. Dots for morning or day goodies. A/c loud.

Room Tip: The breakers cabins are close to the water, a little more $$$ but may be worth it for the view. All...
