We spent two nights at the Lodge as part of our hiking trip to Maine and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Rick and Debbie are wonderful hosts, extremely knowledgeable about the area, and made us feel at home from the first moment we walked in the door. We stayed in the Pemadumcook and North Twin rooms, both which were clean, comfortable, and offered mesmerizing views of the lake and Mt. Katahdin. The bathrooms were spacious, attractive, and featured Jacuzzi tubs which were just what we needed after a full day of hiking. The inn offers complementary use of their canoes and kayaks for guests and we enjoyed exploring the lake in the late afternoon and early morning.
Breakfasts were delicious and the strawberry-banana pancake roll-up was our family's favorite.
We drove into Millinocket for dinners both nights we were there and had a somewhat average meal at the River Driver's restaurant, but a very good meal at the Scootic In restaurant
Our two night stay went much too quickly and I would highly recommend the Lodge to anyone looking for luxurious accommodations in a pristine setting.

Room Tip: Both rooms were lovely, but the Pemadumcook is a corner room with an extra window and more expansive...

My husband and I recently spent two nights at this beautiful bed and breakfast just outside the little town of Millinocket. The accommodations were amazing. We stayed in the Ambajejus room which had beautiful log furniture typical of all their rooms. The suite included a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub which was soothing after a day of outdoor activities. The lodge was built so all the rooms have views of Mt Katahdin. We weren't able to see the mountain until the day we left because it was rainy and overcast but that didn't dampen Rick and Debbie's enthusiasm. They told us where we could pull off I-95 at an overview for a photo opt. Sure enough there it was! We would highly recommend this gorgeous lodge located on South Twin Lake.

Room Tip: All rooms have an amazing view of Mt Katahdin and South Twin Lake.

We recently ended our honeymoon with a two day visit to this beautiful inn. The room was well appointed (large comfortable bed, nice linens, beautiful bathroom) but the highlight was the view of the lake and mountain from our room. We will never forget watching the sun rise and set over the mountain. Breakfast was delicious. Debbie and Rick took as on a boat ride on the lake where we were able to see an eagle and her eaglets. We will be back.

My husband and I recently stayed for 2 nights in the Ambajejus room on the first floor of the lodge. The suite was gorgeous with a comfy king-sized bed, luxurious bathroom with a huge jacuzzi tub, and wrap around lake views from our bedroom windows. We totally decompressed in this relaxing atmosphere. My husband spent most of the first day reading on the couch in the great room, where there are floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake and Mt Katahdin in the distance.

We were so impressed with the tranquility of this lodge. There was virtually no boat activity on the lake. We were shocked and delighted that such a place still exists!

Equally impressive were our hosts, Rick and Debbie. They were wonderfully friendly and accommodating. Both grew up in the town and were able to tell us all about the area, the wildlife, the local eateries, and more. (Not that we were overly anxious to leave the lodge!)

Debbie's breakfasts were bountiful and delicious. When she learned about our health-conscious eating habits, she tailor-made breakfast to suit our needs.

Rick took the guests on a boatride and pointed out the local wildlife. It was a highlight of our stay. He is a walking encyclopedia on the area!

The only thing we would change about our stay would be to book an extra night or two next time!

What a great stay!! Rick and Debbie are so gracious and so passionate about this place. They built it by hand and know the area intimately. Thank you for all the information about the area -- and Sam, you were the best.

We stayed at 5 Lakes Lodge for 4 nights earlier this month. We were very happy with the welcome we received from Rick and Debbie. The rooms are beautiful and they all have a view of Mt. Katahdin. We enjoyed using the kayaks in front of the lodge and going for a dip in the lake in the evening.
Rick knows the area very well and he was able to provide us with information on great places to hike and kayak using our own boats. It was amazing to hike trails and paddle lakes and see the natural beauty of the area. We were also fortunate enough to see moose, eagles and loons. Rick and Debbie also take their guests out on their pontoon boat for a tour of the lakes. On this excursion we were lucky enough to see eaglets in a nest and the mother eagle fishing and returning to the nest with a fish.
Debbie is an awesome cook and we really enjoyed the breakfasts. It was a nice to chat and get to know Debbie and Rick as well as some of the other guests.
We left the lodge and went further south in the state for a few days. On our way back to N.B., Canada we could not resist staying one more night at the lodge.
We would highly recommend 5 Lakes Lodge. We are looking forward to trying out a winter stay.

Room Tip: We have had the opportunity to stay in a couple of different rooms and I think our favourite was the...

I am from Maine and I have been to Katahdin and Baxter State Park, on a camping trip before. Well it's been 20 years since then and I prefer to stay indoors when I go to sleep these days. My husband and I were renewing our vows with my parents in Boothbay later that week. We decided to go up to visit my friend who is working at 4th Debsconeag Lake. When we saw our room at the Lodge we were absolutely breathless! From the bedding to the view of the lake, to the wood all around to the little touches like the snowshoe sconces on the walls, it was something we couldn't believe existed in this area of Maine!! Beautiful Jacuzzi tub built for two- just remember, don't turn the Jacuzzi on high! But it is true and if you want to take advantage of the outdoor activities in this area but sleep like a King and Queen at night- this is the place to do it. Rick is a true naturalist who can give you all kinds of advice on activities and who to contact to do them, and he knows the area like the back of his hand. Debbie is a sweetheart, a great cook, and the perfect hostess who keeps a cozy lodge and has a warm personality. And Sandy the Husky loves everybody. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in North Twin and it has a great 2nd floor view of Millinocket Lake.
