“Great way to see the harbor”

We took this cruise as an impromptu idea after a morning of biking and having a lunch. I have young kids, and wanted to take them on a boat ride, but knew that an ocean cruise to look for whales would be too much for them. This cruise departs from Northeast Harbor, a town that is about a 20 minute drive from Bar Harbor. The ride from Bar Harbor to NE Harbor gives a chance to see other parts of Mt Desert Island. The boat is comfortable, and the tour guide was knowledgeable. He explained how the lobster trapping business works, and how the lobster trapping is done. We saw lots of lobster boats and trap buoys on our cruise. We also saw lots of birds and a few seals. The cruise stays in the bay so it is smooth, and at about 90 minutes, is not too long for kids. There is a restroom on the boat, and there are also clean restroom facilities at the dock.

Had a great time cruising from NE Harbor to Little Cranberry island including a wonderful narrative by a park ranger, visit to a museum, many sightings of sea birds and dolphins. This is a good way to spend a nice day and learn about the Acadia area

This was something we decided to do, kind of last minute and glad we did! While it has a fee, it is well worth it! It was a three hour tour that was scenic, beautiful and very informative! The stop on Cranberry Island is well worth it, as it gives some local flavor to the tour and we enjoyed just walking to the general store/post office for a snack. It was a great tour of the Main coast that I would do again!

We had high expectations for our Sea Princess Nature Cruise and it exceeded every one.

The cruises depart from picturesque Northeast Harbor (only 20 minutes from Bar Harbor). Our particular tour was narrated by Wanda, an informative Acadia Park Ranger. Some of the tours are narrated by Naturalists who are equally phenomenal.

I was a little nervous about getting seasick because I normally do. However, I felt fantastic the entire time! They stay in the protected, calmer waters, as opposed to going out into the open sea.

There are restrooms at the Visitor Center where you purchase your tickets, a head on the boat, and restrooms on Islesford.

The cruise we went on was loosely broken up into 3 segments. The first part took us by Bear Island Light House, East Bunker Ledge, and wildlife spotting. We saw eagles, osprey, osprey nests, loons, a porpoise, and tons of seals!

For the second part of the trip, we got off the boat on Islesford which is a village on Little Cranberry Island. You can explore the Islesford Historic Museum, a few shops on the pier, and an old fashioned general store. You can also just meander about and take in island life.

The last segment of our trip took us past a real working harbor and up into the Somes Sound Fjord where we saw gigantic cliffs and terrific views. We also went past some of the grandest homes in the area.

Sea Princess Nature Cruises is second to none. If you really want to experience Maine, this cruise is an absolute MUST!

We had a lovely few hours on the water and going to Isleworth with this tour. We saw sea lions, eagles, and osprey. If it is a nice calm day, I recommend this tour.
