The trail to Penobscot Mountain was fairly rugged at the beginning while climbing the rocks but leveled off a bit once you reached the solid granite. It was a fairly steep climb but not that difficult. Once we reached the summit, we continued to Sargent Mountain via the Sargent Mountain Pond and found that trail to be similar. Loved the views from both summits!
