We went to dew animal kingdom for the first time today! I can't wait to go back! It is definitely rustic, but they have such a great variety of animals to look at and learn about. It is also a bit pricey ($15 for adults) but it is a family run business and they have many animals to care for, so it is understandable. It is clear that the animals are taken care of and the staff is friendly and very knowledgable. We didn't go on the tour but we passed the group and stopped to listen to the owner talk about panthers. He has so much to share about the animals in his care. Next time we go, we will definitely take the tour! Can't wait to go back very soon!

Go on the tour and hear lots of interesting facts. Bob and Julie are full of knowledge about all the animals and are very caring. Try to go every few years to see the changes.

Great place to take kids to see exotic animals in the woods of Maine . Most are not Maine natives but come from around the globe. The Bengal tigers were my favorites. Very casual atmosphere . Be sure to catch Bob's tour and explanation of where the animals come from.

My wife and I and our three teens visited this astounding family attraction in rural central Maine this afternoon. The range of animals presented--D(omestic), E(xotic), and W(ild)--is extraordinary and diverse: Lions, Tigers, Bears, Camels, Monkeys, free-ranging birds, and so many more... The memorable experience is well-worth the admission cost. I also HIGHLY recommend taking part in one of the twice-a-day informative and lively personal tours offered by Bob--patriarch of the dedicated husband/wife team who oversee this unique sanctuary.

So many animals of a wide variety including free-ranging ducks following you around, peacocks, alpacas, camels, lemurs, monkey-type-creatures, lions, tigers and bears....and more! Don't expect a formal atmosphere, or a fancy gift shop, but do expect to see dedicated staff who actually care about the animals and clean, well-cared-for animals.

It's family-run and they haven't quite gotten it together with signs, so unless you are an animal expert, consider doing one of their tours, which are twice a day (unless there's an animal emergency).

Maybe wear a little bug repellent, sneakers, comfortable clothes. It is mostly shaded, some sunny parts, and you walk on gravel/dirt. It is just a really nice walk through the woods with weird animals all around...

I was really surprised and happy to find such a thing just a 40 minute drive from home! It was a pleasant and fun Sunday afternoon. Kids LOVE this place! Stop in, have a tour, support this family's adventure!
