“Welcoming, beautifully located b&b”

Visited Maine in March, out of season so despite the wonderful, unseasonal weather, most places were closed. Finally we found the Lambs Mill Inn, up a country lane in a superb location. It was also "closed" (the owners on vacation) but their house-sitter, Donna, took pity on us and let us stay anyway. What a lovely, interesting house! Part old, part new, all beautifully maintained, furnished and decorated. Lovely rooms (we had our pick!) with all mod cons. Fabulous grounds too - if you're lucky (we weren't) you might even spot visiting moose or even bears!

Donna was so welcoming, made sure we had everything we could possibly want (she made an early morning trip to the local store to get us fresh food for breakfast) and we enjoyed a great evening in her company. From what she (and other reviewers here) say, the owners are great hosts too. If you're looking for a beautiful, peaceful spot to stay in Maine, within easy reach of the lakes and the coast, this is it!

Lambs Mill Inn was one of the best experience's we have had on a family vacation. Laurie and Sandy were very welcoming and made us feel at home the whole trip. Sandy is an amazing cook and we enjoyed all three of her different breakfasts she made us each morning of our stay. The lot is absolutely beautiful with incredible views. It's only 30 minutes from Portland, ME and I highly recommend it to travelers.

Had a wonderful fall weekend in Maine just 30 minutes outside Portland with a cozy room and a wonderful, warm hostess. Sandy welcomed us, made two wonderful breakfasts and even loaned us an umbrella when a sudden downpour came as we left for an evening function. We relaxed in the dining room with other guests, drinking delicious free-trade coffee and finding friendships with total strangers. This may be a bit off the beaten path but it's well worth using as a destination or as a base for day trips.

we have just returned from a family weekend on Long Lake, where our daughter owns a house. she and her husband hosted about 75 people to a joint 40th birthday party last weekend. we were forced to seek a place to stay as their house was full-up. we lucked out when we chose Lamb's Mill Inn. from the moment we arrived to the minute we left we were treated to total hospitality, good food, lovely and very comfortable accomodations. as my mother would say, 'you could eat off the floor it was so clean'.
the breakfasts were hardy and attractive with healthy homemade treats.
naples is close by, but the setting of the inn seems like it is miles away in the country. the gardens, the meadows, the terrace were relaxing and serene.
we found no negetives but only positives from our stay with sandy and laurel. we would return in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: book early--we chose Suffolk--the biggest room

My wife and I are both in our 70s and last year we found The Lambs Mill Inn as "a place to crash" for a couple of nights. What a great surprise we had during our stay. Our room was clean and well maintained, the attached bathroom was more than adequate for our needs, the breakfasts were outstanding and the location couldn't be more perfect. The Inn itself was both interesting and picturesque. In good weather the outdoor deck was a great place for breakfast.

Needless to say, this year's trip to Naples brought us right back there to re-experience the same enjoyable stay as last year.

Here's looking forward to next year.

The Lambs Mill Inn has just about everything you could want. Great location (less than 1/2 mile from the Naples Causeway but quiet and secluded), nice hosts, excellent room, comfortable home and good breakfast - all at a reasonable price. Definitely recommended!

We have been staying for a long wekend at the Lambs Mill Inn every summer for 6 years and it only gets better. The location is idyllic with beautiful hiking trails adjacent to the property. Breakfast on the deck is a great way to start the day, my wife and stay an extra day to enjoy the leisurely breakfast and view. Rooms are very comfortable with their own bathrooms. The owners are like family! my only complaint - the coffee is too weak but there is plenty of it and it is available early.

A common area with large TV is available and two dining rooms serve guests a full country breakfast. In summer and weather permitting, breakfast is served on the expansive deck which overlooks the field and woods.
