“worth a visit...”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Bray's was clearly a house in a previous existence. We were seated in an upstairs room with three other tables-for-four - like a private dining room. Our own quiet, comfortable space. Service was excellent - attentive, friendly, capable.

Food was very good (nachos, brisket, ribs, bison burger) to excellent (pulled pork sandwich), and served as ordered. Don't know why we hadn't tried Bray's before, but are glad we did. We'll be back!

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

After hearing rave reviews about this place, we were very disappointed by our lunch here.

We ate about 2:30pm on a quiet afternoon. While there were open seats at the bar, the other seats were filled with loud, obnoxious locals. The tables inside were small and wobbly, seats were uncomfortable and the atmosphere was lacking. The outdoor seating has smoking areas.

We ordered a couple of their beers, only to receive one of those ordered. After I tasted it and was disgusted, they admitted it was the last of that keg. I ordered another brew, but they were also out of it. Each beer or response took at least 5 minutes despite the place being empty - the service was terrible. I thought their menu was a bit pricey for the amount and quality of what was served.

On a positive note, their chili is delicious and food was served quickly.

“Better-than-expected food at a great pub”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

We're pretty regular visitors to Bray's, and are always very pleasantly surprised at the high quality food preparation. Their seasonal offerings are always delicious and creative. Last night we had the seared scallops with goat cheese and orange zest. The flavors and textures were amazing-absolutely delicious. The bread was homemade and warm - wonderful! My sons had the fried seafood platter and the portions were generous, the fish assortment was complimentary and fried to perfection. Add to that the knowledgeable bar staff and the great list of local beers on tap and you have a great summertime spot (although they are open year-round). Always a top choice for our family.

“Horrible Service”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

We were the only table in use other than the bar with people. Server took our drink and from that point on it seem like everything took for ever, a glass of wine and a beer. Then we place our dinner order along with a bottle of white wine and a beer. After waiting for that order, the two dinners came and she said will back with Parmesan cheese and the bottle of wine,
Lo and behold my wife went looking for the cheese along took the beer that was sitting on the bar. (bartender and servers just talking away. After about three quarters into the dinner, she comes with two white wines and says there is no bottle just a partial. Mean while we are just starting to watch another couple get frustrated with there long wait for a simple drink / food order.
The only thing of this was the food, but I should of just walked out and got a couple of pizzas from the gas station. Glad to say we are buying in the Maine east coast and will not miss the lousy service in this area of Maine.
