This is one of our local go-to spots for dinner and drinks. 20 great beer taps. Nice service. Locally sourced food specials. Reasonable prices.

The food and drinks were fantastic+great service. A nice spot to dine outdoors and enjoy the view of a lovely Maine town. A real gem!

Made a visit to the Newcastle Publick House for lunch while visiting the area. The building is historic and a landmark in town. Upon entering the pub (from the rear of the building...the parking is a little odd) we waited for several minutes before staff even noticed we were there. We could hear them, but not see them and we weren't really impressed that they didn't have a hostess or at least someone at the bar in the pub who could see customers entering. We decided to eat our lunch on the patio outside which was in front of the building facing the downtown/waterfront area. It was a nice spot but hot. I'd recommend they open the umbrellas on the tables to keep the area shaded during the day, as the sun beats down on the patio area during lunch time. It is somewhat close to the street, so it may not be enjoyable for everyone. The service was slow, as mentioned in several of the reviews, but friendly. We ordered the haddock Reuben sandwich with fries. The sandwich was delicious! It came on toasted bread. The fries were super. This place comes close to being really, really good. If only the service was as good as the food.

Good food, medium service. We were given wrinkled menus with stains on them. Table not bussed until the next course came. This could really be a fancier place but it has the feel that management isn't paying attention.

The Publick House has a Pub room on one side, outside deck eating, and a dining room in another. Very rustic, comfortable, excellent service, great prices. Very accessible to get to. Food is very eclectic. You can get pub fare, (burgers, wood fired pizza, etc) or more upscale food such as steak, pork, seafood etc. Great selection of wine, beer. Some nights they have music, some nights karaoke. Just a great place to eat and relax.
