We took a cabin (has its own showers and kitchen). Staff helpfull and pleasant. Reasonably priced.
We canoed and kayaked and swam. What else do you need.
Oh, and the staff are not stricked.
Very positive experience. The kids didn't want to leave the place.
The only con: you get a fire pit but not a grill. (so we had a fridge in the cabin and light cooking facilities(.

If you are looking for a real camping experience, without the extreme "in the woods away from civilization" thing some people like, you will like DPC.. My husband and I have been here several times and a couple times with the grandkids. I would call it family oriented as the smaller kids love riding their bikes, playing on the play ground and the small "safe" beach, but there is boat, canoe and kayak rentals, water skiing, innertubing, etc and a lot of places in the surrounding area for teenagers. As noted in other reviews, there are a lot of permanent/seasonal sites that have taken the "premiere" spots and LOTS are very unkempt and could be better maintained, but the park itself seems pretty maintained for a campground in the woods. Seriously, how much can you clean up nature. I've always had a great time. My grandkids had a great time. Often going off playing with the other kids. The people are always friendly, everyone waves as you go by, the maintenance folks are extra courteous and helpful. Internet access could be better away from the office but you're camping, come on!! LOL

Room Tip: Larger campers will have a really hard time manuvering. VERY small tight turns. Better to stay up fr...

This was our first stay at Duck Puddle. We were there in support of friends who were playing in one of the bands this weekend. We normally camp across the Lake. We walked the campground to check out sites in the event we might want to return in the future at other times. What we saw was a bit disappointing in that there are many sites that are clearly season long if not year round and are poorly maintained if maintained at all. many of these sites are in prime locations at lakeside where premium $ would no doubt be paid by campers traveling to Maine looking to have a spot next to such a nice lake. It just seems to this writer that the owners are missing a huge opportunity to treat their visitors to some great camping. That being said, we had an awesome time and enjoyed the bands and great weather. We will no doubt try to make this event again another year.

Stayed Labor Day weekend, and LOVED it! The site we had was the best, beautiful view! We wished it was a bit more level and easier to pull our rig into, but despite the tight squeeze, it was great! The staff was VERY accomodating, and the other campers were freindly and made us feel at home! We will be Back!!!!!

Room Tip: GREAT value and Friendly staff

We went to DPC for the weekend in August and had a blast! They have theme weekends every year and we happened upon the "Wet and Wild" weekend--which was so much fun that we booked again for next year! I thought the family that runs the campground were accommodating and friendly considering how busy they were but the real fun was the HUGE water fight throughout the campground. There were literally hundreds of people soaking each other all in good fun with super soakers, water balloons, and other homemade "soaking" apparatus! The night was loud early, but quiet by 10:30 and very serene throughout the evenings. Would definitely recommend.

Noisy, dusty, dirty, and poorly maintained. Lots of alcohol consumption and loud radios past 11 PM. Half of campsites occupied by long-term campers with poorly maintained sites and ugly, old trailers. Narrow beach access. Tent site had little grass and was littered with garbage and dog poop.
