“Turner Farm Barn Supper ”
Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed @ Nebo on Thursday night and opted for the Turner Farm barn supper. Acclaimed chef Amanda, of Nebo, is @ the helm @ TF on Thursday's in July & August. The entire experience was magical. We started our evening w/ a tour of the salt water farm. Most items served are grown/sourced at the farm. A variety of amazing goat cheeses on homemade cheddar crackers & prosecco based cocktails started off the evening on a perfect note. The meal that followed...stuffed heirloom tomatoes, green beans w/ creme fraiche, succulent duck delighted all. Dessert was a fitting closer to the evening...peach & thyme galette w/ a mound of whipped cream. This is not simply fine dining, this is an island experience; the memory will last a lifetime.

“Quintessential taste of Maine!”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

The evening began and ended with a 50 minute boat ride aboard the "Equinox" the latter had us engulfed in a torrential downpour from the remnants of a warm Summer storm, this gave us a "taste of Maine" both figuratively and literally. Nebo, where to begin?! There is a calm to the island and to the lodge which sets the tone for a memorable evening. There is a delicate balance between waiting too long between courses and feeling rushed, neither of which I have patience for and Nebo Lodge nails it! The tables are comfortable placed within the dining room so as not to feel like one is an appendage to the party next to them, yet, intimate enough to feel bathed in the warmth of mingling. Our table of four shared four starters, a dozen North Haven oysters, fried green tomatoes, mussels and duck confit; all divine and accompanied by Rosa rugosa infused vodka gimlets! Grass-fed rib eye steaks and lobster were the main course and cooked to perfection. Desserts were a melange of crispy meringues, wild Maine blueberries, toasted coconut and heavy whipped cream. We didn't want the evening to end and we're all already planning our trip back to Nebo Lodge.

“Special Atmosphere on North Haven”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Made a reservation for Nebo Lodge before vacation , after reading about the restaurant in BA Magazine . It was a wonderful meal in a beautiful restaurant , the service is attentive . It reminded me of a southern restaurant. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes , and swordfish , burger , and a shared dessert .

The cocktails are the best, with ingredients like fresh basil and mint, delicious. Wonderful appetizers. The fried green tomatoes are always a favorite.

“One of the Best”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

What a find! We spent two wonderful nights at Nebo lodge and ate dinner there both nights. We shared several appetizers and the Fish Reuben. The oysters were fresh and delicious, pekin duck wraps different and yummy, and fried green tomatoes were the best I've had. The menu is varied, they use a lot of local ingredients from the island and did i mention dessert? dark chocolate tart and a lemon bread pudding that were tasty. It is not a cheap dinner but we like to save up for a really good meal and these were great. Great island to explore by bike, leave the car on the mainland and enjoy. The service was personable and very good.
