“Heaven on Earth”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2008

The views from the walkways are beautiful and every turn brings a different view of the rocky coastline and waves. There were some sort of beach roses in bloom and purple thistles, adding to the beauty. Marginal Way is a photographers paradise; I can attest as took at least 50 pictures !! Going after Labor Day when most of the tourists are gone is an added plus; the walkway was rather empty of foot-traffic. After your walk, a stop at Barnacle Billy's for a snack or meal is a must !

“Maine Lite”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2008

We stopped to walk the Marginal Way on our way home from Bar Harbor. From the reviews here, I was expecting something spectacular. But after seeing some of the wilder places of Maine, this seemed like Maine Lite. Too tame, too crowded, too managed. We had visions in our head of our favorite spot -- Schooner Head, outside Acadia National Park -- and this place just couldn't compete. Worth a stop if you're going by, but don't spend $15 as we did for parking.

“Awesome!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2008

The Marginal Way was simply breathtaking. We parked at Perkins Cove and got some delicious taffy before our walk along on the Marginal Way. There are benches to stop and soak in the incredible views. We could have sat and watched the waves crashing on the rocky coastline for hours. It is a short walk, but well worth a visit. It is minutes away from the Nubble Lighthouse. Be sure to stop-by both if you are touring coastal Maine.

“Beautiful walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2008

I highly recommend walking along the Marginal Way.
You can walk the entire walk from Perkins Cove, Oqunquit
to the beach at Ogunquit or part of it. Keep in mind that
at high tide you will see more of the ocean. At lower
tide there are several spots where you can walk down
directly onto the sand or on the rocks. There are many
benches to rest on. A few of the hotels are either
directly on, or near to, the Marginal Way. If you love the
ocean you will love this walk.

“Great scenic walk by the lighthouse”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2008

Marginal Way in Ogunquit is the quintessential Maine experience. Breathtaking views of the ocean, craggy shoreline and picturesque lighthouse. If you are traveling through the area by car it is worth the stop for a few photographs.
