The room was small, bathroom was small and outdated (owner said they will be redoing them this winter), but I didn't book the room to stay in my room but to be close to everything and that is exactly what I got. The staff is very nice and willing to help you with anything you need. You are almost right across the street from beach access, right across the street from the shoreline walkway, and right in the heart of the area. Wife and I parked our car the first day and never moved it until we left. We walked everywhere and this place provided the perfect launch pad for that. I thought it was priced very reasonably for the area and would stay there again. Although I would wait until after the bathroom remodel.

My wife and I just spent our 10th here. We couldn't have asked for more friendly service. We love staying at small inns to get away from the comercial type hotels. This place fit the bill perfectly. The small patio was a perfect place to read the paper and get a view of the ocean. The coffee and treats all day were great and I loved having a cookie waiting for me each night when we got back. The bedding was amazing. I haven't slept that soundly in a long time. You won't get a oceanfront hotel here but you will get a well run, friendly, quiet, comfortable inn. We will definitly be returning!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor and will again. We didn't here a peep from anyone up there all we...

The inn and the room were all as wonderful as expected. The hospitality was very good. The location and the view from the the front porches was great. The only downside was the bathroom in our room. The bathroom was straight out of a 1970's summer camp - it needs serious updating and redesign. The bathroom was the only disappointment on our stay.

Room Tip: Inquire about the date the bathroom was last renoveated.

After reading great reviews of the Parsons Post House Inn, we decided that we should give this place a shot. However, the romantic write-ups were quickly dispelled as myth upon arrival to the inn.

Positives:
- Best of all is the terrific staff. The owner and the other innkeepers are kind and wonderfully helpful. They are willing to provide information about the area, make dinner reservations, and engage in conversation.
- The location is great, right along the main strip in Ogunquit, making it a short walk to restaurants and shops, and a small walk to the beach.
- Muffins and cookies prepared daily for guests.

Areas needing improvement:
- FLOORS: Upon arrival, we found that our room's carpet was wet. Not a little bit wet in spots, but plenty wet, in most of the area that we walked. The owner explained that they steam clean the rugs between guests. While we appreciate that they're seeking to maintain the (non-commerical grade) rugs for as long as possible, it actually was quite off-putting to have plush, wet rug on our feet in a hotel room.
- ROOM SIZE: The size of the room was smaller than any that we've ever stayed in, anywhere. From Hiltons to luxury accommodations, to wonderful bed & breakfasts, this place was by far the smallest.
- BATHROOM: The bathroom was described on their website as "European". I'm suspecting this is meant to explain that there's simply a standing shower stall, but truly, this bathroom was on par with that of a campground outhouse, and I'm being objective. To say that this bathroom is European style is insulting. The decor was difficult to look at, but tolerable. The true issues exist in the bathroom's antiquity and decrepit shower. I felt that it was appropriate to wear sandals to enter into this shower, that's how old and gross it looked.
- PRICE: For what we paid, we expect much nicer lodging. While these rates may be standard for the area, the bathroom and other room features were sub-standard, making this a tough sell for the price.

Overall, the place is a great location, and if you can imagine that it's a retreat house and not an inn, you can get past the uncomfortable, grimy feeling parts. It's a nice location, and the innkeepers are great, so I hope that they'll continue to make improvements to the inn over the coming years.

Thank you for the kind words about our staff. We want all our guests to enjoy the town and feel welcome.

Bathrooms: The bathrooms have been at the top of our list since we purchased the inn in May of 2011. We know they are out of date and in desperate need of remodel. The shower has great water pressure, a brand new shower head, and is cleaned daily. The woodwork was all the previously owners handywork. The surface area is seriously lacking, but that is one of the main things we'll makeover this fall. The whole bathroom will be gutted and no one is more excited than we are.

Floors: they were wet because they were just cleaned. There would be plenty of time to dry before typical check-in time (3pm). However, when you are allowed to check-in at 12pm, the carpets do not have time to dry. We would of asked you to wait, but you were made aware of the situation and told us know that you were okay with it. Again, we cannot wait to rip up the carpets this fall and replace them with hardwood.

Size: this is out of our control. We understand they are small, but we are an inn, not a big box hotel. We are planning to replace the old drawers in the rooms with a more modern storage solution, making the rooms functionally larger.

Price: We have done extensive research in this area. We are very competively priced. You will find something cheaper on route 1, but then you will be driving everywhere. On Shore Rd, you will find rooms that are more expensive and have not been renovated for decades.

We thank you for your stay and we would love to have you back to see the changes.

Just got back from a long weekend in Ogunquit and I can' t say enough good things about Parson Post House Inn! Fantastic location -- you can walk everywhere in Ogunquit! Clean and modern rooms, comfy beds. Very helpful front desk staff -- the place felt home-y without feeling like a stuffy bed and breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

My boyfriend and I went on a road trip throughout New England and our stay at Parsons was by far my favorite. From the moment we checked in, Terry and Laura made us feel welcome. The rooms were clean and cozy feeling. Other reviews did say the rooms with the double bed are small, which is true. But, my boyfriend and I did not mind because there is so much to do in the town and surrounding area. The muffins and cookies left out during the day are delicious and drinking tea out of the fancy cups was a fun experience. The location has a great view of the ocean and is literally a 5 minute scenic walk to the wonderful beach. A bonus was every place we ate at had fantastic good. Terry made reservations for us and made sure we got a good seat everywhere we went. Laura even sat down with us one night and we had a great conversation about the town and our trip. Overall, a wonderfull experience and I plan on going back next summer.

The owner and her family are so accommodating and anxious to please their guests. The inn is beautiful with even more improvements to come. All common areas are so inviting and comfy to sit and watch the happenings on busy Shore Rd. Most everything is within walking distance. We will be going back for sure.
