“Hidden gem in a not so hidden place!”

We spent 4 nights at Parsons Post House Inn and truly enjoyed our stay! Laura and John couldn't have been more hospitable. We had brought our bikes and we were hoping to find some nice country roads to ride on. When we asked John for suggestions (an avid cyclist himself) not only did he give us a great suggestion, but he printed it out a map without our even asking. The route could not have been more perfect. He also supplied us bike locks so we could leave our bikes on the side of the inn! The room was quite comfortable and cozy. Walking distance to everything, you can't go wrong staying there.

Room Tip: Room 28 has cathedral ceilings which makes the room feel bigger and a mini fridge.

Clean, comfortable and the most accommodating hosts. One could not ask for more. The owners, Laura and John, are highly visible and will go out of their way to accommodate their guests. We were hungry for a Maine blueberry pie and Laura even offered to stop-by her favorite bakery to pick one up for us. It was obvious to us that these people work extremely hard to make their guests feel at home. When the grandkids wanted to go to the beach we were given chairs, toys, etc. as well as a cart and towels. We would not hesitate a minute to stay here again. Thanks Laura, John and staff for a wonderful long weekend.

Room Tip: The pent house is wonderful for a family allowing the option to eat-in, if desired.

This inn, as everyone else has already mentioned, is in the perfect location right in the center of the action in Ogunquit, Maine. My husband and I had to attend a wedding in Portsmouth, NH and decided to stay in Ogunquit as it was only 20 minutes north of Portsmouth and offered cheaper places to stay. I also prefer staying at an Inn versus a plain old brand hotel such as Hilton or Fairfield. Our stay worked out beautifully as we were able to explore both Maine and New Hampshire. I much preferred Ogunquit. Staying at the Parsons Post House also allowed us to be able to walk to everything in town. If you are looking for a tastefully redone inn with a very friendly and welcoming staff, then this is the place for you. However, if you are looking for a stay at the St. Regis, this is not the place to go. The rooms are small, but very nicely done and very clean. The candies were a nice touch. We loved the fresh baked muffins and cookies each day. Laura and John go out of their way to make you feel at home and give great recommendations for attractions, restaurants and antique shops. Can't wait to go back!

My wife and I spent 4 days here the first week of October. Now mind you, the weather was picture perfect, so that had a lot to do with our pleasure. However, Laura and John were incredible hosts, and the inn was immaculate. We were pleased beyond expectations with our living area. We rented the penthouse, which was fantastic! The top floor is the quietest, with the best views.
Laura and John have not bragged enough about their renovations to the inn. This place is wonderful. The smell of fresh coffee and muffins every morning add to the pleasure. Your hosts have endless recommendations for dining and things to keep you busy. As others have said, the beach and the Marginal Way are both very close to the inn. This is a perfect location for everything. We were amazed at how many excellent restaurants were within a 5 minute walk. Ogunquit is a beautiful little town. All of the residents seem to care about impressing visitors. Go....enjoy....relax!

Room Tip: The penthouse is by far the most spacious.

Laura and John have done an outstanding job of remodeling the inn. The bathroom is tastefully updated with inlaid floor tile. The whole room and bathroom, though small, give a feeling of clean, light crispness. As first time visitors, their friendliness and willingness to provide tips about area activities and restaurants were received gratefully. We appreciated the 2nd floor sitting, sunroom overlooking the ocean--a comfortable late evening respite for reading.

We just finished a four night stay and loved the place. We previously stayed in late summer 2012. On our initial stay we found the hosts to be extremely friendly and the Inn charming. For our second stay things were only better. The hosts have had a second year to polish things up and it shows. We stayed in the same room as before and found a beautiful new bathroom and wonderful wood plank floors.

If you're not familiar with Ogunquit you're going to be pleasantly surprised. It's a charming little town nestled into the rocky coast of Maine. It's a place meant for Inns and this one fits in perfectly.

Suggestions:
- Parking is tight, bring the small vehicle.
- Walk around town. Just about everything you'll want to visit is less than a mile away. The ocean is almost always in view. There are many charming restaurants that you'll find on foot but would miss otherwise.
- Visit the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. It's in a beautiful setting and maintains a very respectable collection of modern art. It's the one place in town you'll need the car. It's on a winding road and the sidewalks disappear.
