We have been going here for over 10 years now and each time we go gets better. We love the location, not right on the beach but within walking distance and within walking distance of the shops. Marginal Way is right near there too. The rooms are always clean and we are always taken care of by staff that goes out of their way to please us. This is a place you must go!

Room Tip: Any room is great. Depends on what you want to be close too for amenities.

We have stayed at the Meadowmere each Labor Day weekend for several years as a Mother / Daughter get away for the end of summer. We love this resort! The value for the price is unmatched elsewhere in Ogunquit. We love the new pool area where we can order lunch or drinks throughout the afternoon while enjoying the sun. We leave the car at the hotel and walk to dinner, to the beaches, to the quaint shops, and to the Marginal Way which leads down to Perkins Cove. It's the perfect escape!

Room Tip: We typically stay in the 'Main Resort Doubles' and find the rooms to be very quiet. These r...

I so regret staying here. Was expensive for sleeping in a bed that was like a small piece of concrete. We chose this hotel for the pools but it wasn't worth it. Had a terrible sleep on a lumpy hard old double bed. The "free gourmet breakfast" that the staff raved about was some banana bread, everything else you had to pay for. The smoke detector in our room was on the wall which we also thought probably wasn't up to code. When I booked I was told we were told AAA members received a 20% discount, upon checking out we were told it was only 10%. Big rip off hotel. Front desk staff were rude and not friendly. Finally I think it it wrong for any hotel to not allow you to cancel a day before - with this hotel it had a crazy two week cancellation policy. Avoid this hotel!

Dear elizabethmacdonald

It is with our apologies to respond to your posting and we thank you for your business. We apologize that our hotel did not meet your expectations and we are happy to address each concern.

In regards to pricing, this guest joined us over the Labor Holiday Weekend for a single night stay on Friday August 30, 3013. The pricing reflects the peak season and holiday weekend night – However this guest choose to reserve our motel style Squire area, the least expensive option, and paid a total of $173.29. We offer AAA members who present their card upon arrival a 10% discount on eligible resort stays and this information is published in the AAA Tour Guide and on the AAA website. The AAA discount of 10% was honored for this guest at arrival and at no time during the check in or out process was a concern with the amount mentioned.

In regards to our complimentary continental breakfast, this guest received our seasonal breakfast at no additional expense. We do not offer additional items for purchase – The breakfast is provided complimentary for our overnight visitors in season. We apologize for any confusion.

In regards to our accommodations, we take the comfort and safety of our guests seriously. Our rooms, including our mattresses, are inspected daily. We apologize if the mattress was not to your personal preference. We wish that we had been contacted that night as we could have attempted to make this guest more comfortable – However, this guest did not mention this concern during their stay. We are disappointed whenever we are not offered the opportunity to assist in making a guest more comfortable. Please know that hotels in Ogunquit are required to have annual inspections with the Fire Department to insure all safety standards are in place. Our hotel adheres to these standards and all smoke detectors are included. In fact, at the Meadowmere we are actively upgrading beyond the required standard to include CO2 monitors for the added peace of mind for our guests.

In regards to making a reservation with our hotel, this reservation was made on August 27th to join us on August 30th. Our cancellation policy is a refund of the first night’s stay deposit minus a $25 processing fee outside of seven days prior to arrival and within 7 days prior to arrival, the deposit is nonrefundable. This information is on our website and communicated during booking so that guests are aware prior to confirming. As this guest reserved within the 7 day period for a last minute trip, the reservation would be nonrefundable – which was not a concern as the guest arrived and stayed with us.

While disappointed in your review, we hope that you find accommodations in Ogunquit to better suite your needs.

Thank you for sharing your concerns.

Our first trip to Ogunquit was unplanned and happened about 25 years ago, we've been going back ever since. We have driven past the Meadowmere Resort and the Ogunquit Playhouse more times than I can remember and knew at some point we would be visiting there. A friend at work recently told us about some of the shows he had seen at the Playhouse and his stays at the Meadowmere. My wife's 60th b-day was coming up and she's been wanting to go to the Playhouse for years so I purchased some tickets and booked a room. Both of my choices were wise as the room at the Meadowmere was more than we expected as was the event at the Playhouse. Jonathan's restaurant which was a 3 minute walk from our room was also wonderful, the meals were excellent. We later found out room packages are available for the Playhouse and will be taking advantage of them before the season is out. Thanks to everyone at the Meadowmwere for making our short stay a great one. Next year we're sure to bring additional family members up.
Thanks, Danny and Irene from Mass.

I have been going to the Meadowmere Resort for about 3 years and it Is by far the best value for the money. The staff is great, the landscaping is wonderful and the overall feel is outstanding. I will never stay anywhere else in Ogunquit as long as I have the Meadowmere. My husband and I have been married for 21 going on 22 years and each stay at the Meadowmere is like a second honeymoon.

Just got back from a stay at Meadowmere. We booked our trip to Ogunquit last minute so our first choice of lodging was full so we decided to give Meadowmere a try. First of all, I want to comment on how clean the facilities and our room was!!! I usually get creeped out staying in hotels, however, that didn't cross my mind here!!! Our room was cute with a fireplace and overlooked the pool. It was a lil pricey, but hey what do you expect for Ogunquit in the middle of summer??? It was within walking distance to downtown and Perkins Cove via Marginal Way (we did this walk both days)

The breakfast included wasn't that exciting i.e. donuts, bagels, cereal, fruits, and pastries galore. But if you're on the go like you should be this time of year down there, it is perfect to hold you over until lunch.

In summary, Meadowmere is great for the location and cleanliness gets two thumbs up!!!

Sadly for me its my wife's favorite place to stay in that area. I find it relatively expensive compared to many of the condo hotels available along route 1. Its okay, clean, two pools, indoor/outdoor pools and spas, location is good, staff is helpful but I just find the standard rooms to be lacking and the difference in cost to upgrade is significant. Am I being overcritical??? Perhaps but with packages and plenty of accomodations available I just expect more for my dollar. It doesn't help that we went for a 2 nights stay in the winter and were not told that the indoor pool was closed for repairs nor were we offered any compensation. I wrote to express my disappointment and never received a response,

Thank you for your review – and for visiting the Meadowmere!

We are happy to know that we are your wife’s favorite place. Thank you for letting us know that you prefer the suites – They are an option for guests wanting more space and in room amenities. Our packages are available on many of our room types for guests to enjoy dining, spa, surfing, wine tasting, New Year’s, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s and many other getaways.

At the Meadowmere Resort, we are known for our many amenities, which we offer without a resort fee. We are happy that you have enjoyed them. Unfortunately, we do not have a record of receiving a letter regarding the indoor pool concerns and apologize that we were not aware of your concerns. It would be our pleasure to help and we welcome you to contact us directly.
