Good deal at $100 a night for two people. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The spa features were fine. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. The massage was excellent, one of the best I'm had. Standard hotel decor. But at that price we weren't expecting more.

We purchased the Valentine's Weekend Getaway (Meadowmere was hosting this getaway 2 weekends in a row) for the weekend of February 7- February 9th. Upon arrival we were amazed at the size of this resort. It was huge!

Our weekend package getaway included:
- champagne and chocolate welcome hosted at the West Meadow Pub, which is on-site and attached to one of the buildings. We had a choice of using that on Friday night or Saturday night.
- Full open menu breakfast at Jonathan's Restaurant for Saturday and Sunday (Saturday breakfast: Irish Omelet: huge portion omelet made with onions, peppers, Swiss cheese and corned beef hash, accompanied by roasted red potatoes, and choice of bread/english muffin for side. [It was so much food I couldn't finish.] Sunday breakfast was pecan crusted French toast with side of bacon and a Western omelet accompanied by red roasted potatoes and choice of bread/English muffin. Oh and bottomless cups of coffee!!
- Choice of open menu dinner at either Jonathan's Restaurant or Old Village Inn. (We chose Jonathan's and had a reserved seating time. Each person was given their own appetizer, entree, and dessert. Liquor, other than a glass of wine, was at our expense.) Our selection for dinner was Oyster's Rockefeller and baked artichoke with Swiss cheese for appetizers, Maine Seafood Pasta (linguini with lobster tail, lobster claw, shrimp, clams in shells, with diced tomatoes and garlic) for the entree, and for dessert: Belgium chocolate mousse and baked apple crisp with vanilla ice cream.
- Saturday evening entertainment at Jonathan's Restaurant ($79 value, stage side seating and a complimentary drink for each person) featured The James Montgomery Blues Band!
- gratuities included with all the meals!

The room (South Meadow building), although was like most hotel rooms, was exceptionally clean and very comfortable featuring two full sized beds, nightstand, desk, bureau, flat screen tv with a mix of cable and local channels (no movie channels), free in-room wifi, coffee pot (if you're a big coffee drinker, bring your own coffee pot and fixings), hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and refrigerator. The counter, sink, and mirror were separate and across from the bathroom (situated by the door) had the refrigerator built into the cabinetry. There was also a set of sliding doors opening up to our own private balcony, which was a bit small but served its purpose.

To our absolute delight, in our building/wing (most of the buildings/wings are connected to the main reception building) there was a Roman Spa Jacuzzi with heated saltwater (closed every Thursday for cleaning) and a movie theater with stadium seating. Each night there were two movies shown 5pm & 8pm and each movie selection has been recently released to DVD.

In the main building by reception, there featured an indoor heated pool, a sitting room offering books, television, and a fireplace. The main reception entrance was directly across from the West Meadow Pub.

One other thing of note:
On our first night there we opted for room service from Jonathan's Restaurant due to being tired from the 3 hour drive. The menu selection offered was directly off their main menu and the food was fantastic (Rhode Island style fried calamari with fried pickled peppers for appetizer, Haddock with seafood stuffing, 16'' grilled ribeye steak [each entree with potatoes, broccoli, and carrots] for the entrees, and Traditional Italian Zabaglione with assorted berries for dessert. The cost of the meal was charged directly to the room, no money exchanged hands..not even a tip as it was included. The haddock was cooked to perfection, the ribeye was grilled so well that it cut like butter..even with a plastic fork and knife (the only disappointment was the room service cutlery), and the zabaglione was so phenomenal, I had to do an internet search on how to pronounce it AND for a recipe!!! TOP NOTCH!

Extremely value friendly for the package especially for being off-season.

Room Tip: Bring your own travel coffeemaker with all the fixings because unfortunately the in room coffeemaker...

The Meadowmere may just be the best resort Ogunquit has to offer. My family has been traveling here for 15 years and we have never been disappointed. You really cannot get much closer to downtown. Just a short, few minute walk places you downtown or to the main beach, or a short trolley ride will bring you to Perkins Cove. They have expanded and updated so much over the last several years and continue to be an environmental leader. Every time I see the resort there are more and more solar panels on the roof. I can't even count them anymore. They have a great product and continue to improve it every year. Oh, and don't forget to visit the outdoor hot tub, open all year round.

It was our pleasure to welcome you back and thank you for being such a fan! It sure sounds like you discovered our central location in Ogunquit – a short walk to the beach, shops and more. We returned home disappointed with our short stay (4 hours). Yes family friendly and no frills but I would recommend for ages 4 and older. (Actually great couples place with pub and hot tub/roman bath on site.) It just wasn't the right setup for us with a 1 year old and 3 year old. I should have called and asked questions before booking last minute and heading up for an overnight stay.

My 2 stars is for room size, set up, and comfort. The family suite was a very tight fit for us. Very small bathroom with sink outside. Mini fridge was nice to have and the rooms were clean but very dated...We ended up with 2 double beds vs king ...Not a deal breaker at the moment but preferred and requested king. No sitting area or chair sofa in either rooms so not sure how a family is supposed to relax. The kids room was TINY with 2 twin beds crammed in there with a dresser. No room for pack in play or toddler inflatable bed. So pack in play was temporarily stashed in entrance of suite until we could figure out where to put the boys later. Our 3 year old was able to unlock and open door to hall (lots of fun for him) and there was no door chain.... Um yup I wouldn't put it past him making a break for it during the night. My 1 year old was drawn to the numerous outlets...I had to stick him in pack n play for his safety.

We has some fun in pool but we found it cold after 20 minutes in the water, we were freezing. Plus a large crowd of older folks not using the pool were kicking back in the sun with some wine and beer and cards (envious of their mellow afternoon) had cracked the door in pool area to outside which added a chill when we got out of pool. Again no place for us to sit and relax as a family.

We returned to room and decided to head home being an easy hour + drive. No relaxing/decent sleep in a double bed and couldn't figure out where to stash the boys. We weren't sure of dining options for evening with most restaurants closed for season, we really didn't want to get back in car and drive around. When we arrived to check in there was no on site lunch options open and very few toddler friendly places in town open for lunch. (Dead of winter...literally) the place we ended up with had no high chairs and gave my 3 year old a menu and offered him an ice water. Lol.. Stressful lunch with a one year old on lap.

Anyway we did hit game room with the boys before check out... They liked the juke box and arcade games etc. but again not toddler appropriate.

Check out was awkward. I didn't ask for refund when she asked why we were leaving. Hey my fault for not asking before we booked room. I explained our room was too small and no place for kids beds in kids room and it wasn't working out in general. She got a little snotty saying they have pack n plays all the time in family suite. I find that hard to believe unless it's in parents room. Not sharing the room with the baby.

We typically stay in a 1 bedroom suite and found most hotel chains suites have good sized space for a pack n play and toddler inflatable bed and sitting area. So skip this place if you need crib or pack and play. Just not much in general to do with little ones besides the pool. Maybe try again in a few years?

Dear Daphne418,

It is with our apologies to respond to your posting and we thank you for your business.

We are disappointed that our hotel did not meet your expectations for your stay and we appreciate your concerns. Unfortunately, when the reservation was booked online by this guest, the selection was made for a Family Suite with two doubles and two twin and not for a Family Suite with a king bed. You are correct - The room featuring the two double beds is more spacious and offers guests a place to set up items such as room cots and pack and plays when needed. This room also has a sitting area with a table and chairs as well as a writing desk in the two bedroom suite.

It is unfortunate that we were not made aware during your stay about the concerns with the outlets in the room. Although most guests appreciate the accessibility of outlets throughout the rooms, we do ask that guests let us know when a concern arises. We would have been happy to offer outlet covers to make you feel more comfortable.

Our seasonal pub is a quiet season favorite for couples looking to enjoy a weekend cocktail before heading to dinner, as well as a guest favorite in season with breakfast and lunch during the summer. We strive to provide friendly and attentive service to all of our guests and would have been happy to recommend family friendly dining options. Jonathan's Restaurant is just steps away from the hotel, offering a large fish tank in the main dinning room, a kids menu and even a play room for children to enjoy. It is unfortunate we were not able to make this suggestion for you.

We appreciate your feedback here and have noted your preferences in the event of future stays with us. Should you return to our hotel, we recommend that you contact us directly to help make your stay more enjoyable.

Thank you for sharing your opinion.

We found the Meadowmere to be a reasonably priced getaway location that was clean, well-maintained, and with a very helpful, friendly staff. We have stayed on numerous occasions, usually opting for the packages that include breakfasts and suppers at some good local restaurants. The indoor heated pool and the outdoor multiple person hot tub (big enough for a dozen or more people) are major pluses for us. We have stayed in every level of accommodations at the Meadowmere, from the basic room to the highest priced suite, and have never had to register a complaint about any of our stays.

We stayed at the Meadowmere a year ago over the MLK weekend. We had such a nice time we decided to go back. The best thing about the Meadowmere is that you don't have to leave the property if you don't want to. The hot tubs are fantastic. We were in the outside one during the snow storm on Saturday which was pretty cool! We enjoy the pub with the fireplace, the Roman Spa is the indoor hot tub which is very nice as well. The gym is state-of-the-art and very clean. Being next door to Jonathan's restaurant is a huge bonus. We got a package deal which included a dinner and two breakfasts. Their food and service is outstanding. We've been very happy with their service. We would recommend the Meadowmere to anyone looking to take a "break" from it all and unwind. You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: The gas fire place is a very nice feature, but if you're going to be out an about like we were...
