Just returned from a wonderful 50th birthday celebration with 5 girlfriends. We were all more than pleased with the Beachmere and it's terrific staff. The entire staff, from bartenders to housekeepers went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The staff arranged a spa day for us that was perfect, Sara (owner/manager) went out of her way to make sure we had a great time and made us feel right at home. The view is spectacular, rooms were clean and comfortable and the homemade donuts at breakfast were the best. Can't wait to come back!

Dear Elizabeth S -
Thank you for your review. I so enjoyed meeting your group, who clearly enjoys each others company and knows how to have fun. I appreciate your kind words regarding our team efforts to make every guests feel like they have a home away from home when they are here. I will share this review with them - as they work hard to provide the very best to each guest. We'll make sure to have the donuts ready for your next visit. Enjoy the fall and the next big b-day! This trip was for my group of 6 close friends, all turning 50 this year, to get away to mark the occasion. We considered many different towns, but ended up settling on Ogunquit. The Beachmere was rated #1 on TripAdvisor, and had everything we were looking for. We were in 3 rooms in the South building, each room with a queen & twin bed. The rooms were spotlessly clean with a small kitchenette. The views were spectacular. Everyone on the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and it is apparent they take pride in their hotel. Everything in town in within walking distance. We rented a car for one day to take a side trip to Portland and Kennebunkport, but other than that, we walked. Sarah was extremely helpful in the planning of this trip, and she was very friendly and kind to us while we were there. She arranged for us to have a wonderful afternoon at the spa, with a lovely spread of snacks and wine, and Kim was there to make sure everything went as planned that day. Do not hesitate to stay here; I can't imagine a better hotel.

From the warm sun and beach days of summer to the cold winds of January the Beachmere has something to do for everyone. The marginal way is outstanding at all times of the year and off season affords you the chance to see all the quaintness of the town with about 250,000 less tourists sharing it with you. Love, love, love this place, and will undoubtedly return soon...

Dear Binnyboo2-
Thank you for your nicely worded review! Ogunquit remains a hidden secret in the winter time and I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your March stay with us. One of my favorite activities in the winter is to snowshoe Marginal Way, hopefully you were able to try this as well. Great restaurant deals, a deserted beach and the beauty of the snow makes this a great time to unwind completely. Hope to see you again!

The Beachmere Inn is located right on Maine's sandy coast. The Marginal Way is a public, paved walking path that goes between private land and the sea, so you can walk the coast for miles in either direction, accessing numerous sandy beaches if you choose. The Beachmere Inn has three gates that access the Marginal Way. We could walk to town, to Perkins Cove, to the 3 mile beach on the peninsula and to Jonathan's where there was fabulous music. The hotel is a little pricey, but everything is here in the summer. We were assigned one of the houses that were not on the main property, but we had very fast wi-fi in our room--the entire Inn has free wifi. Good healthy continental breakfast with yogurt and granola.

Dear BarbaraHRockwell
Thank you for your comments here on TripAdvisor. I enjoyed your review and details of our location along with some of your experiences in our town that make our Inn's location helpful to those staying in Ogunquit. Pleased to hear you enjoyed the granola; something we bake up ourselves! We hope you will visit us again and that we can assist you with choosing the accommodations that will work for you both!

The view was wonderful! However the room we stayed in was the older south part of the Beachmere and had an offensive odor. It was not worth $250.00 per night. The room was dated and very small. If you intend on going there Dont get any rooms on the ground floor on the southside. Im sure the rooms above it looked the same. The staff wouldnt let us in until exactly 3pm. I would go back again but I would take one of the updated rooms or a room in The Victorian. Loved Maine!

Dear jjffhh
Thank you for your comments here on TripAdvisor. I am surprised to learn you were disappointed with your stay or had a room issue as we have no notes of any problems being reported. We like to have the opportunity to address any issues that affect a guest, if we are aware of them. Our check in is by 3pm and it seems we were able to get in you by that time. That Friday July 29th was a particularly busy one due to many guests & wedding guests arriving for the weekend and I see the housekeeper had a busy section that day. We provide photos and room details on line so that guests will know what rooms they are reserving. That information is included in our confirmation along with the link to our web site. South rooms are reserved a year in advance, with guests enjoying the extra outdoor space the first floor rooms give with the lawn that stretched out beyond the room, perfect for summer enjoyment. We’re saddened to hear you did not enjoy your stay in that room, but we hope you will try us again so we can introduce you to a Victorian room and more of our wonderful State of Maine.

If you are headed to the southern coast of Maine and particularly to Ogunquit, this is THE place to stay. Most rooms are new or newer, very clean and you can't beat the ocean views from your patio or deck. We return every year and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast is just another plus. Don't forget to treat yourself to a spa treatment, relax and enjoy this beautiful property. Looking forward to our next visit this September.

We stayed at the Bullfrog cottage last weekend during the heat wave. I have previously stayed at the main inn, the Hearthstone House and now this adorable offsite cottage.
The room was perfect -everything we could have needed was there. Our room # 300 was very large and would have been plenty big for 5 guests. While staying offsite you are still able to go to the Beachmere Inn for a delicious breakfast. Everything was fresh and the breakfast room was spotless as is the whole grounds. On our second morning we ate outside overlooking the ocean which ended our stay beautifully.
The beach area at the inn just below the marginal way was perfect - it was over 100 degrees on Friday and we spent it in the ocean or in our chairs which were right in the water. Another great thing was that you could leave your stuff at the beach and walk to the breakfast area for cold water or a cup of coffee.
Everyone at the Beachmere is so pleasant it appears that everyone is happy to be working there. I will be coming back and of course I will try a new room for my next visit perhaps in the fall. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Dear RitaBoston_Mass
Thank you for your recent stay with us. I'm pleased you enjoyed The Bullfrog Cottage. It sounds like you are trying out all of our locations here at Beachmere Inn. We did quite the renovation this past winter at Bullfrog, with a complete electrical rewire, new boiler and heating, paint from head to toe, new decor and with the new entry way we're pleased you enjoyed the comfort of this building. Just let us know what kind of room you would like to sample on your next visit, we'll be happy to accommodate. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and thanks again. Sarah Diment
