“Clean, Comfortable Stay at Juniper Hill Inn”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

My husband and I recently stayed overnight at the Juniper Hill Inn in Ogunquit, ME. We stayed on Saturday, June 8th for 1 night. We had a king room in the main building (in the same building at the lobby).

This hotel has several buildings. The main building has 2 levels of rooms, the lobby, checkin area, coffee/vending machines, an indoor pool, and a nice covered porch with comfy chairs (perfect for morning coffee!). There is no elevator that I saw so request 1st floor if you need handicap accessible or if you'll be juggling strollers. The outdoor pool is seperate and there are also additional room adjacent to the main building. T

he inn has been undergoing a renovation and about 80% of the rooms are renovated. You can double check with the front door to make sure you get an updated room. They are pretty standard, but nice. The beds are comfortable with clean linens. The bathrooms are standard-- there is fabulous water pressure and nice products from Bath & Body Works. TV is fine, free wi-fi, and continential breakfast (which we didn't have). The pool is well maintained.

It's a good place to families or couples. I wouldn't recommend it for business travelers though, as there are a lot of kids on the property and no good "business" room. Check in process is easy-- staff are nice. They keep great information on local attractions and restaurants, and have a huge book of menus (a nice bonus). Rates are reasonable, and they offer a good AAA discount.

Most rooms overlook a parking lot, so no great views that I saw; however, the hotel is really good walking distance to town. It's a short 5-minute walk to everything and about 10-minutes to the beach. It's totally reasonable, even on a hot day and/or with kids. Location wise this hotel is great-- you have a safe place to park your car and can walk into the downtown area for shops/food/etc. It's also right on the main road so you have easy access to local towns (for movies, more shopping, etc).

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel and would return here myself.

Room Tip: First floor rooms are best if you have a stroller or don't want to do stairs-- I didn't see...

This is a great value, clean and good location within walking distance to town and the marginal way. Rooms were good sized and overall very clean and well kept. The outdoor pools were heated and there were a lot of lounges and chairs. Breakfast was typical hotel contental breakfast food, but fresh and the coffee was above average. We would definitely stay again!

Offering clean, comfortable, well appointed rooms in a more than sought after location, a half mile walk from the town center in southern Maine, with a path on its property to one of the most beautiful beaches in New England for very reasonable prices...this is Juniper Hill Inn in Ogunquit, ME. And we found everyone on the staff, from the welcoming desk associates, to the friendly housekeepers and groundskeepers sincerely interested in all guests truly enjoying their stay at the facility they represent; this from many of the folks we met at the pool, at breakfast, etc. in addition to our own personal observations and what we have experienced in visiting this well maintained motel which, for us, has become a destination...in and of itself.

Room Tip: The front desk staff is exceptionally helpful in attempting to match room availability to specific r...

We stayed here for one night on our way to Camden, and I was pleasantly surprised at the value. Our standard king room was far larger than expected, and although Juniper Hill's location isn't in the center of things, like some of the other hotels along Shore Road, it's a very quick walk around the corner to the shops and restaurants. (To get to the Perkins Cove and the south end of Marginal Way, you can take the trolley, which has stops right in front of Juniper Hill.) The only issue we had with the room was a quirky tub stopper, which seemed to be permanently flipped closed - after showers, we had to hold the latch down to ensure that all the water drained out.

As another reviewer noted, the free breakfast was definitely Carb City, but it was nice to have bagels as an option, rather than just a depressing spread of cold cereal and danishes. We didn't take advantage of the indoor or outdoor pools, but they looked like nice options for a hot day.

We love Ogunquit, Maine, but had never stayed in this hotel before. We had a function to attend in Kennebunkport and decided to make it a weekend. What a great choice! The hotel is in a quiet setting, but close enough to walk to everything - beach, restaurants, shoppes, attractions. The property is beautifully maintained and the staff could not have been nicer. The property had everything we could ask for and more. I highly recommend it! We will definitely be back!

This is an older, well-maintained hotel right on US 1 which lends itself to road noise at night. In season this is undoubtedly a wonderful place to stay--very convenient. That being said, now that we've stayed here during off-season (first time to the area), I'd check out other places first. No view but nice people and reasonable rate. Two outside pools and hot tub, one indoor pool and hot tub so plenty of room to spread out. Breakfast is carbs, carbs, carbs, and the weakest one we've had during our two weeks of travel.
