This is a quaint little breakfast restaurant, owned and operated by experienced restaurateurs, Jeb and Heidi Dufresne, who also own and operate a great, Ogunquit, water front restaurant during the day and evening on Beach Street. It can get a little crowded. I would suggest parking in the lot which is a five minute walk into Perkins Cove and after breakfast, walk around the scenic Cove harbor. The service here is very friendly and efficient and the food is very well prepared.

We tried to get into the Cove Cafe one morning but the line was out the door and there was no free parking around. The next day we smartened up and showed up on foot. The coffee was good, but more importantly, the cinnamon roll french toast was INCREDIBLE! It was literally 3 cinnamon rolls, dredged and cooked and covered in syrup and icing. (Not good for diabetics.) It was soooo good we wanted to lick the plate. We didn't finish all of our coffee and they even offered a to-go cup for our walk on the Marginal Way. (The eggs and yogurt were good, too, but the french toast was AMAZING!!!)

Everything here is clearly freshly made from the pancakes (no boxed batter mixes here!) to the hash, fruit cups and omelettes. This week we had the 2 eggs, fruit salad and croissant for $8.95. The fruit salad was freshly prepared so all of the fruit was whole and brightly colored. They included fresh raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, melons, grapes, with an even distribution of the more expensive fruit and the less expensive fruit. They even sliced banana on the top at the last minute so that it was clean!
In the past we have had the belgian waffles with marscapone and berries. That sent us to the moon and back it was so flavorful. The waffle is the real deal. Light and crisp and DEFINITELY NOT made from a pancake mix like they serve at Bintliffes (THAT place is ALL hype and prepackaged food!)
Coffee is good, juices appear fresh squeezed although we haven't ordered ourselves. And while you are waiting they are playing a video behind the bar that is all about the making of Perkins Cove, lobstering and deep sea fishing.

Went here for breakfast and had never been before. Tiny but cute cafe where the food was fine, and the service was nice. Walking distance of Perkins Cove and even the center of town (by where Route 1 meets Shore Road) is less than a mile.
