Description: Enjoy lobster, steamers, lobster rolls, chowder and a whole lot more in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Live lobsters caught by local lobstermen wait in tanks filled with ocean water coming straight from the cove. Choose your size and two sides. For all the taste without the work, have a lobster roll any way you like it...a quarter pound single, double-stuffed, triple, or an entire pound on a buttery toasted roll with or without mayo. The lobster wrap and lobster BLT are also recently added favorites. Homemade chowder made from an old family recipe is a great way to start your meal, there's no thickening flour just the perfect combination of clams, fish, potatoes, onions and spices in a milk and cream base. The "Shack" has been owned and operated by the Evans family since the 1980s and is proud to serve the hottest chowder and the coldest beer in town. Let Jason, his family and his crew provide you with a true Maine eating experience in the oldest restaurant in Perkins Cove...

Have eaten here twice in the last week (once for lunch and once for dinner). Outstanding, right down to the sweet corn. The lobsters are so sweet and not overcooked like so many other places. The real deal. I can't say enough about the place.

Every single member of the family claimed this was one of the best tasting meals they've ever had. The lobster roll...wow. We've had these in Boston, but THIS...this blows it away. Daughter feels the same way about the crab roll. The clam chowder and even the cole slaw were just outstanding. The place is small and you walk up to place your order. They bring it to you. Simply supreme.

Had a great meal in the shack. Chowder was good and teho fish tacos were amazing. Fresh and spicy. We admired the seafood stew and will order it next time. Friendly staff. Sat on the wooden benches inside. Authentic Maine lobster shack on the harbor.

Lobster Shack is a small restaurant in Perkins Cove right next to the draw bridge. Larger menu than you'd expect from a 'Lobster Shack' and they serve wine and beer. To be honest we've only sampled a few items from the menu because pretty much we always get the same thing. The lobster roll is great maybe 4 oz's of bite sized pieces on a roll. Nothing glamorous but never ever had one over cooked or chewy. The corn is good also, tasted fresh meaning sweet the way corn tastes within a day of being picked before the sugar turns to starch. We've also had the clam chowder which I give an excellent, maybe the best I've ever had. Very impressive and I've gotten it free with a lobster roll on numerous occasions which is amazing in a town where food is pretty pricy. The staff also get's a mention, no matter how busy the place get's they always find a minute to stop by and check on your meal, that doesn't always happen at the high end places where you're spending 3 times as much... So I rate Lobster Shack an excellent, actually some of the best food you'll find in town at any price. Seriously good food.
