We are finding it harder and harder to find words that can convey how much we enjoy our yearly visits to the Riverside Motel, but we'll try. Let's start with location. None better, you have picture perfect sunrises, postcard views of Perkins Cove, complete with colorful lobster boats and beautiful sailboats. Comfort, I sleep like a baby with the gentle waterside sounds that just lull you to sleep. Amenities, you'll have to look pretty hard to find a better complimentary breakfast assortment than the one at the Riverside. Everything you could want for breakfast and the best of all the choices. The staff at the Riverside are friendly, courteous and go out of their way to ensure all your needs are addressed. A lot of credit goes to Geoff and his staff. The improvements, each year, just confirm that they not only want you to enjoy your experience at the Riverside but they also take a lot of pride in operating a first class motel. Geoff, thanks again. See you next year.

Room Tip: A building (best sunrises)

Thank you vdas for taking the time to tell the Trip Advisor readers about the Riverside.
Our entire staff appreciates your kind comments. Nancy deserves more of the credit for the continual positive changes of the grounds, and buildings. I have it very easy, I simply need to keep up with the reservations phone lines volume.
Best wishes 'til next time!

I loved the location of The Riverside Motel. The view was incredible! The room was very clean & comfortable. The continental breakfast was delicious! the muffins & donuts were so fresh, the best have ever had. I stayed there with my Dad who is elderly & physically disabled. It was very comfortable for him & it was so easy for him to get in & out of the room because there are no stairs. The doorways & bathroom are set up in such a way that his walker & wheelchair were easily maneuverability. It worked out great for him. I am planning on returning next year & hopefully many years to come! The stay in Perkins Cove was a beautiful memory that I will carry with me for the rest of my life!!

This motel is fantastic. It caters to older guests that like peace and quiet (no pool).
The staff is very, very courteous and attending.
If you plan on staying here, add an extra night like I did because of the tranquility the area and motel brings.
During the stay I decided to stay an extra night which the staff worked into the schedule. Because of the popularity of the motel, we had to go from an upstairs balcony room to a lower grass area room. Both were very clean and nice and very comfortable.
In the mornings you can hear the lobster boats starting for their day and the Seagulls squawking their morning wakeup call. It is just a beautiful area.
I will be staying there every time I go to Maine because you can see the coast of Maine on day trips from Perkins Cove and the Riverside Motel and be wrapped in the true feel of Maine while you rest.
The motel is next to the Marginal Way which is a walking path approximately one mile long along the coastline and ends at the center of Ogunquit.

Room Tip: The upstairs balcony rooms provide the best ocean view but the downstairs rooms provide a beautiful...

Some of our repeaters like the balcony more (where you drive close to your door, and have a couple steps to your room), and some prefer the value of the lawn and garden level. You were able to explore both on your first visit.

A comfortable and clean motel overlooking a small cove filled with fishing boats and sailboats . Immaculate grounds although the hotel says welcoming guests since 1880 it had to be renovated lately it is like new and very clean the the room attendant even wipes every post of our balcony in the morning. Located in Perkins cove you just have to cross a foot bridge for great restaurants and boutiques. It has also access to the Marginal Way trail a trail that outlines the beautiful beaches of Ogunquit the trail is lined with breathtaking greenery and flowers. A photographers paradise.

My wife and I stayed for two nights last September.
We had been in the USA for two weeks touring around New England and this was our last stop on the way back to Boston for our flight home. After so much travelling we were ready for a couple of relaxing days and that is exactly what we got!
We found the Riverside Motel on Trip Advisor and were pleased with the excellent reviews we saw. We booked via email and stayed in a balcony level room.
The Room - very big, with a double bed (maybe king? I can't remember), two arm chairs, a writing desk and ample space to store our luggage. The balcony had two chairs and a table - and a spectacular view of the picturesque Perkin's Cove. Honestly, I could have spent hours sitting out there watching the boats come and go.
Breakfast was self service in the main building, both mornings we brought it back to our balcony. Lovely!
There is a footbridge which links the two sides of the cove and on the otherside are shops, restaurants and other businesses. It's very small and so easily walkable, but there is a lot to see and do there. There is a coastal walk (the Marginal Way) that leads into Ogunquit, this is well worth doing and doesn't take long - from memory about half an hour. There are more shops and restaurants in Ogunquit. From there you can walk back or take the trolley bus (which we did).
All in all we had a fabulous couple of days at the Riverside and only wish we stayed closer - we'd be back for sure!
Thank you Riverside Motel, what a perfect end to our holiday!

Room Tip: Book a balcony level room - you have a fabulous view over the cove.
