The Terrace by the Sea is awesome --- the hotel rooms are always super clean. The location is superb --- right on the ocean, but within walking distance to town. A couple of years ago they expanded by acquiring more buildings. Most places might "degrade", but they seemed to flourish. I thought the lawn would be overcrowded with additional people --- not sure about how the summer is, but Memorial Day Weekend was just fine. Each year you see improvements and upkeeps. Their continental breakfast is very robust. My husband and I happened upon this hotel several years ago while walking the Marginal Way on a winter day in February! We have been coming here once a year since that time. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Rooms on Wharf Lane have water views.

My husband and I often stay here and it is always great. Darlene, who works at the main desk, is superb. She is very efficient and hospitable. We stayed in a newly renovated room, which was spotless. We love relaxing on the front lawn and just watching the ocean with a paper and a cup of coffee. (Coffee and water for tea are provided throughout the day) The breakfast is satisfactory, but the selection of breads and muffins never vary. The fresh fruit is outstanding. It is a very short walk to the beach and down town to many restaurants. We always love coming here.

I took a trip with my 89 year old Grandfather and husband for a long weekend over Memorial Day.
The location can't be beat! It is walking distance to everthing in the center of town. You can also walk about 30 minutes along Marginal Way to Perkins Cove or walk 5 minutes across a bridge to Ogunquit Beach.
The handicap room was wonderful that my Grandfather stayed in (rm 210), although it was the farthest possible point in the hotel back to the Inn where breakfast was served. It was a tough walk for him each morning and we ended up getting breakfast and bringing it back to him. Also note if you have kids or the elderly that there is no guest bathroom available in the main Inn if you are sitting out front or having breakfast.
Staff at front desk was very friendly and helpful.
Rooms were fine. Normal motel rooms. Seemed very clean.
Assigned parking space for 1 car per room.
Again, can't beat the price for the location.

We have been travelling to Maine for the Victoria Day weekend for thirty years. Since we discovered The Terrace, THIS little gem has been our home away from home for over a decade. Wonderful people, great location, very comfortable accommodations, what more could one ask for? They are meticulous on keeping the grounds and the rooms clean and beautiful. It seems each time we come back there have been improvements to the property and surroundings. Today we have to compliment the owner, Sergio, for keeping on top of his game! His team is outstanding. Friendly, courteous, always helpful with dining recomendations and local tips. The morning breakfast nibbles are varied, there is something for everyone's tastes. Great fresh fruit, variety of breads and toppings, cereals, yogurts, etc. A very pleasant way to start each day. We have been coming here for years, we will be back for years to come. Our daughters, 22 and 23, consider this a tradition they will continue! Thank you again to Sergio for creating and maintaining his GEM in Ogunquit by the Sea! TY from Montreal.

I have written several reviews of The Terrace By The Sea in the past, each based on stays with my husband. This past weekend, I went with 2 girlfriends for a long weekend. We had a great time! They had never been to Ogunquit and loved it, and our room was absolutely perfect. We had 2 queen beds, with2 chairs and a TV downstairs, and a loft with pull-out sofa and sitting area in the loft upstairs. Perfect for the 3 of us! Also had a fridge and the best part was that there were 2 sinks - one in the bathroom and one off the bathroom. This was the first time I had stayed in the motel part and it was really very nice. On Saturday, we returned to the room to drop off a few things and it was being cleaned. There were 3 staff members cleaning the room - including one person who was scrubbing the bathroom floor. All 3 were very, very pleasant and did a wonderful job of cleaning the room (not that we had left it messy!). The rooms have consistently been spotless. Front desk check-in was smooth (2 hours early, too!), breakfast was the usual juices, coffee, breads/bagels, fresh fruits, cereals. We took advantage of the free wireless access with absolutely no problems in the room. We have been wanting to try The Sparhawk or The Beachmere at some point, but keep going back to The Terrace. After 5 years of visits, it is still the best!!!!

We have stayed several times. I cant speak for the motel part but the main house, the Inn is delightful. The rooms arent fancy but lovely. The location is unbelievable.
Beautiful views. Walk to all in town but set back from the main road. Bedding is spotless and comfortable. The whole inn is impecable. Very nice mainly older clientele we notice in the off season when we go. Continental breakfast wonderful. Fruits, Cereals, Breads, muffins, juices and more in a lovely area with quaint small tables.
Highly recommend.
