I just came back from four nights in Ogunquit where I stayed at Terrace by the Sea. I was a lone traveller so I stayed in room 100 - it is a smaller room right next to the lobby in the main Inn. It was perfect. Small but perfect for me, very clean (and housekeeping came every day to leave it spotless again), and though I was told it didnt have an ocean view, there is!! A partial one but nonetheless! The morning breakfast on the porch was the best way to start my days - good selection of fresh fruit and breads, yogurt, coffee and juice, and the view right on the ocean, just perfect! In the late afternoon before heading out for dinner, it was great to be able to have a drink on one of the patio chairs on the beautiful manicured lawn looking at the ocean. The location of the place could not be better...A walk to so many restaurants, shops, even Perkins Cove, and the beach is literally three minutes away. I didnt use the pool much (just once when the beach got extremely windy) but it was clean. I have been going to Ogunquit for over 30 years but this was first time staying directly on the coean...well, needless to say, I can never do it any other way from now on!! The only tiny little thing, and this is restricted to my specific room (100) is that in the morning you do hear the "clings" from the plates and cutlery form the staff setting the breakfast, but honestly, it wasnt that loud, and I had brought some ear plugs so it was an easy fix ;) I would definitely recommend this place!

Room Tip: Room 100 is a good room for solo travellers or couples who travel lightly.

We had 4 beautiful days in this comfortable and welcoming B&B. The main house was so quaint.A beautiful wrap around porch with tables set for morning breakfast while you enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean in front of you. A relaxing lawn where you can sit out in lawn chairs provided, to watch the ocean while you enjoy a glass of wine as the sun going down. Anything you need is there. Very accommodating, beach towels, small heated pool ,even umbrellas on the front porch if it rains. Rooms are comfy and very clean! No need to take your car to the beach or to town. Its a short walk to everywhere. Can't wait to return!

We've been going to Terrace since 1993. Even when it's changed ownership, we've received the best of service and enjoyed the best view. There are now new properties added that enhance the ease of accessing the beach and Main Street. The breakfast that is included is a wonderful Continental breakfast, plus cereals and fruit, very satisfying and the best of bagels, etc. We stay in one of the efficiencies with a direct beach/ocean view and outside porch. Reservations are a MUST for those few units, but there are possible vacancies otherwise on the property. When you call, make your preference known and they'll do their best to accommodate.

Room Tip: Call early, February, to get your preferred rooms, as soon as you have your dates.

We are very satisfied with this hotel. It was in the perfect location for us . Very short walk to the beach and town. The view from our room was gorgeous and the room was huge. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.
My only complaint was the mattress was not firm enough for me and felt like it needed to be replaced. The sheets were very worn and had those little balls that happen with age on sheets with low thread counts.
In spite of this I would stay there again.

My husband and I recently spent two nights at the Terrace for our anniversary. This hotel was our second choice after we couldn't get a room at the Anchorage, but next year this hotel shoots right to the top of our list! The location is perfect; only a short walk to the beach and right in the center of all the 'action' in Ogunquit. The room was airy and spacious (first floor of motel), the staff wonderful and accommodating, and the continental breakfast a nice plus. The no child under 5 policy was an unexpected benefit, as we didn't have to share the pool with any kids! Erin at the front desk was kind enough to give us a place to change as we arrived early and our room wasn't ready. We had such a great time at our beloved Ogunquit and will definitely be back next year.

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend 27-29 July. The location is amazing! Private parking, right in town, 5 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to the entrance of Marginal Way. We stayed in a 2nd floor motel unit with great ocean views. The room was much larger than I expected. It included cathedral ceilings and a 2nd floor loft. Our room was very clean but could have used some updating. The age of the room had no impact on our great experience. The inclusive continental breakfast was a perfect start to the day. We took a short 2 mile drive to Frankie & Johnny's in York for the best dinner ever! The setting is very unpretentious, small and quirky. If you are looking for a break from trendy ambiance and don't mind BYOB... this is a must! We went to the Piano bar Sat night and it was a great time! We are looking forward to another great stay! We may consider bringing our 2 and 6yr old boys because they would also have a blast!

We stayed on Saturday & Sunday. We had a spectacular corner room in the redone motel unit. It had a large king size bed, and four windows, which all had screens. We never find that in many places we have stayed. The room was ready early, when we arrived. It is a spotless property, that has a wonderful staff. They have a beautiful pool, and the room comes with a continental breakfast. You have the beauty of the location of this hotel. It faces the river and ocean, and they have very comfortable chairs and lounges, for all to enjoy. We had perfect weather. We ate the at the Front Porch upstairs, and love the piano music and singers. On Sunday we dined at 98 Provence. The restaurant was spectacular and ended our wonderful two night getaway. This property is truly a hidden gem.

Room Tip: We love the rooms in the motel unit. They have all been renovated and are spectacular!
