“Great Location, But Short on Amenities”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014

We stayed here for three nights during the peak of the summer season and, to be honest, we were "underwhelmed" by MoM. The room was large enough (except for a very tiny bathroom and shower), but it was on the ground floor located directly beneath the living space occupied by the owners. They get up very early. We know this because we could hear every sneeze, foot step and toilet flush and were awaken each morning well before sun up...not exactly what you're looking for when on vacation. Also, the place has minimal guest amenities compared to most B&B's at which we've stayed over the years. No pool, no garden area, no dining room or decent places to hang out and socialize with other guests. Bottom line...I think you'll find better options in Ogunquit.

Room Tip: Stay on an upper floor if you want to sleep in.

I stayed here for 4 nights with my partner in the Uranus room (nice king bed). The inn is a 1 minute walk up a side street from the main part of the village. In spite of the closeness to all the shops and restaurants, the inn and the room are very quiet. Good breakfast in the am (hard boiled eggs, several kinds of scones, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, etc.). The host was pleasant and very helpful with information and suggestions. The inn was clean and orderly. Our room was spacious with a large walk in closet and a small, but adequate bathroom. Small fridge in the room was a plus. Off street parking. I'm not a fan of animals in inns, but the dog was tolerable and the inn was so well maintained his hair and dander was not evident. The host and the guests were all very friendly and social. We really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: The Uranus room was spacious with a king bed, but no private porch.

Comfy, cozy and clean! Great hosts with wonderful conversation and hospitality. Breakfast was extraordinary: homemade scones, fresh bread, bagels, fresh fruit, bananas, yoghurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, juice, tea and coffee.

Thank you!

My partner and I stayed at Moon Over Maine for an extended stay in July. The owners, Rick and Mark, were very helpful and great hosts. They not only gave us information on restaurants and events in the area, they shared information only locals would know - park here, not there; walk to this spot because over there is..." It was a level of personal service and interaction that really makes the B&B experience what it should be. The breakfast was good, with options for a variety of nutrition plans. Our room was a good size. While the views are nothing special, it is an extremely easy walk to beautiful locations and all Ogunquit has to offer. When we go back, this is where we will stay.

Room Tip: There are different sizes of rooms. Ask when you book.

Moon Over Maine is everything a bed & breakfast should be. I had the pleasure of staying here with my boyfriend for 3 nights. The owners, Rick and Mark, were very personable hosts, and their dog, Ty, was friendly, calm and well trained. The house has a relaxing warmth to its decor, and is situated on a quiet side street within close walking distance to everything Ogunquit has to offer. Breakfast was also very good with homemade scones. The only room available to book during our stay was the Mercury room, which was clean and pleasant, and includes all of the necessities. I would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect place to stay in Ogunquit. Close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Good accomodations for the whole family. Great breakfast in the morning with homemade scones. The owners waited for us the night that we arrived and gave us lots of tips to enjoy our stay. Very friendly.
I will stay in this B&B if I go back to Ogunquit.

Moon Over Maine is in the perfect spot in Ogunquit-- Just steps from every restaurant and watering hole you would want to patron. We even made the walk to the Playhouse for a show. The beach is also only a 10 minute or so walk. The owners will greet you personally and see that your needs are met the entire stay. Don't miss out on the homemade scones each morning! The rooms are perfectly appointed and the building was filled with friendly guests. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: There are two rooms on the basement level that are accessed from the outside in back. They are a bi...
